Sea Reinas turned 3 on June 1, 2015. What a cause to celebrate! 20142015 has been an amazing year for us. Honors include joining Not Just a Label, features in prestigious magazines, blogger engagement, new retailers and exciting new creative collaborations. Last year we joined the ranks of independent fashion designers on Stefan Siegel’s online platform Not Just a Label. Sea Reinas is one of the few swimwear brands and one of the only Caribbean designers. Be sure to checkout our profile. June brought features in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Traveller magazines, as well as new collaborations with Shustring, Fashion London and a bevy of international bloggers. Our Gypset SS16 collection is a bohemian dream, pushing our romantic, minimalist handwriting into unexplored lithographical territory. Hint: swim hasn’t seen such beautiful marbled patterns yet. We will be presenting at SAF Swimshow in July, be sure to check us out at booth 371. Choosing our annual collaborator is always a personal feat for me, there are so many talented designers to choose from! I am thrilled to be presenting our Sea Reinas by Antílope as part of Gypset SS16. Working with lithographist and silk printer Camila Restrepo has been an awesome task. Pushing our limits is sometimes uncomfortable, but the reward has been worth it! As the exclusive swimwear of Barbados, we are enthusiastic to be expanding into the US and Europe. Swimwear sales in Barbados have allowed us to see Sea Reinas surpassing long-established brands like Phax, Pily Q and Helen Jon. As well as new retailers in Miami and Guatemala. Boom! This year I had the pleasure of becoming a founding member of the Barbados Fashion Council whose goal is to foment cultural collaboration and put Barbados on the map as a fashion destination.
