GAME PREVIEW Waipahu Marauders
T
VS
he Seariders were in a back and forth battle last week against the Campbell Sabers. In the last minutes of the fourth quarter the Seariders led the Sabers 25-24, when out of nowhere came the game changing play. The Searider’s drive had come to a stop and the special teams unit was about to punt the ball away. After a high snap and a fumble in the endzone, the ball was recovered by the Sabers for the game winning score. The Seariders lost the game 32-24 leaving the team with a 4-2 record. After such a heartbreaking loss the boys are looking to bounce back tonight against the 2 and 3 Waipahu Marauders. The Seariders have learned the hard way that no lead is safe, as long as there is time on the clock. “We gotta push through the whole game and not give up in the fourth quarter and let our guard down,” said junior offensive lineman Losi Mauga. The Searider and Marauder passing attack are about even, averaging 193 and 173 yards per game respectively.
Wai‘anae Seariders
These equally matched offenses will make tonight’s game an exciting one for fans of fast paced action. The Marauder defense is one to look out for. In fact, the Waipahu “D” is averaging more points than the Marauder offense. The Searider offense needs to pump up the intensity to make sure plays are executed properly against such a stingy opponent. “When we don’t execute plays exactly how we are coached to, or play as a team, that’s when we let them be an equal contender to us. But I know our offense will do a great job because they listen to their position coaches all the time,” junior defensive lineman Justice Jardine said. The Seariders and their coaches have confidence in each other that this will be an eye opener for the Marauders. “If they continue to listen to us and push as hard as they do at practice then they will do great when it comes to game time,” Assistant Coach Matt Murakawa said.. This game is their time to show everyone that the Seariders don’t let up easy and can come back strong from staggering downfalls.

CHAZ BOLLIG Senior Running Back
Q:
Explain what’s going through your mind when you’re running the ball.
A:
The only thing that goes through my mind when running the ball is to get it to where it’s supposed to be, the touchdown.
Q:
How do you prepare mentally and physically before the game starts?
A:
First I’m focused on getting the ball, then I focus on making that first guy miss while I run it down to the touchdown.
Q:
What is something that inspires you to play? Why?
A:
Watching Tavon Austin beast out as I imagine myself doing exactly the same.
Q:
Describe what you think about before the snap.
A:
Before the snap my mind is only on making those big plays that everyone is waiting to see.
Q:
What specific things are you doing to prepare for Homecoming night?
A:
Practice harder than I’ve ever done this entire year!
SNAP CHAT What kind of a rush do you get during the game?
Soph. Austin Keliinoi-Westbrook “The type of rush I feel is a pumped up kind of rush because once I step on the game field I feel pumped up and ready to hit the opposing teams players.”
Fresh. Dj Roberts “Out on the field I feel pumped up and like this adrenaline comes over me and I feel like I can do anything when I’m playing.”
Soph. Noah Kealoha “I feel the rush that the crowd gives when they roar. That allows me to play every play like it’s my last.”
Fresh. Kala Whitney “The kind of rush I feel is an exciting kind of feeling because everyone is yelling and screaming for my team and I and it’s a great rush.”
