PORTHCAWL COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL A LEVEL RESULTS 2022 ST CLARE’S SIXTH FORM
This year sees the return to something like normality with our students actually sitting their examinations. Our Year 13 pupils sat an incredible 1270 papers over the examination period. Overall, the school is delighted by the results achieved by our students and the vast majority will now move onto the next stage of their education. Students at AS and A2 have had their endeavours rewarded with excellent results. There is a large debt of gratitude for teachers who have worked so hard once again this year and for parents who have supported their sons and daughters. Excellent results truly reflect the effective partnership between a school, its learners and the support from home. I do feel we need a brief cautionary note regarding this year’s results and any comparisons with previous results. These are the first set of examination results since 2019 and our results compare very favourably. Given the disruption the current Year 13 have endured over the past 2 years we are especially proud of their achievements. We must remind ourselves that they had not sat any external papers over the past two years. Furthermore, there has been much disruption and dislocation to their education during their time in the sixth form. There were several outstanding performers from students who have done exceptionally well. The following students achieved 3 A’s or better at A Level: Lewis Babbage, Luke Bryant, George Davis, Rex Ezard, Natasha Fray, Olivia Geddes, Pippa Harrowing, Rebecca Jones, Morgan Lean, Olivia Lovell, Kara Morgan-Rees, David Sheldon, Matthew Sleep, Holly Thomas, Isabella-Riley Thomas, Samantha Wensley and Harriette Williams. Head Teacher Mr Slade commented that this excellent series of results will ensure Porthcawl students have secured places at some of the best universities in the country. He continued to congratulate staff and students who were praised for their hard work and steadfast dedication, which was particularly impressive given the most severe challenges the students, had faced. Nappies and absorbent waste
Homes that produce nappies and other absorbent hygiene products can register for a collections This service will take the following items: separate fortnightly purple bag collection. This will be collected on the same day as your non-recyclable waste. Purple bags must not be used for sanitary items or general household waste and will not be collected if they contain these items. Please do not overfill your purple bags as they can split when they are too heavy and too full.

If the service is not used for three consecutive collections you will need to re-register. Visit www.bridgend.gov.uk to request additional purple bags, this is the responsibility of the occupier and bags won’t automatically be replenished.
