Announcement: Changes at the Gallery

February 4 - February 27

Our Semi-occasional Exhibition of Secondary Market Offerings

We are thrilled to share with you some news of profound changes at the gallery. When I opened the gallery in 1983, I had no idea where this business endeavor would lead me so I have given this gallery every ounce of spare energy for the last 37 years. Feeling now at the top of my game, and yet ready to leave on a high note, I am eager to see a bit more of the world rather than keep gallery hours. We have had our best five years of business within this last decade so it’s an appropriate time for me to sell the gallery and move on to my plans to live outside the United States as of summer, 2021.

Since 2015, when we closed our resale gallery, ArtREsource, we continue to find the need to sell or the desire to buy secondary market artwork is as strong as it ever was. With this show, our Semi-occasional Exhibition of Secondary Market Offerings, we hope to reconnect with gallery-goers who miss seeing our wonderful collection of rarely seen offerings. Please join me in warmly welcoming Jim Wilcox and Carol Clifford as co-partners in the gallery along with me. Jim has worked for me for nearly 22 years and Carol, his wife, has worked here for the last year. Within several years, they will be buying out my shares completely. I will work with them until then to create a smooth transition of continued success. The name of the gallery will not change. We will keep this present location because it works so well for us and we already own it. Jim will work with me as assistant director until such time as he and Carol are co-directors of the gallery. If you’re interested to learn more about our plans visit this url online: www.gregkucera.com/France We all thank you for supporting our artists and gallery for these many years, especially during 2020. Your support during the past year kept our doors open and allowed us to move forward. It’s been a great journey, and now I’m taking a fork in the road to an unknown adventure.

In gratitude, Greg Kucera

Multi-disciplinary artist Liz Tran’s practice and migration of expression digs deep for concave, yet dimensional psychological biographies in which to convey and share messaging. Tran molds her variant context with the broader intentions of a visceral dissection which bridges how constellations incubate the idiosyncratic parlance settled within the natural world.

In this new collection of mixed media paintings, Tran articulates infinitesimal symmetry blossoming through Rorschach inkblots. This geometric calligraphy is only a precursor to the convoluted process of subjective interpretation. For Tran, this tonal exercise functions as an apparatus for feelings of reconciliation, aspiration, joy, and equity. In addition to her paintings, the exhibition includes “Spore” an installation that mirrors Tran’s love for mycology and the interconnectivity of mycelium. The common fibers of a shared existence that is embodied in the human condition is at the axis of our interdependence on humanity and nature.
