ANNE SIEMS INNER WILD

FE BRUARY 1 - 24, 2022 ARTIST MEET & GREET: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 12-2pm

“Deep Water” Acrylic on panel, 60 x 60 in.

In this exhibition, Siems presents a vulnerability that connects all of us, particularly as we have moved through the last two years. Rather than embodying a sense of victimhood, her figures take on a tenderness that is full of strength and courage. Siems paints mostly bald women with full-body tattoos who have an element of mysticism and magic, often seen in the addition of animal spirits. These characteristics give viewers insight into the tools developed by the artist in order to tend to her own sense of self and contribute to a collective sense of well-being. “We are all hungry for profound authenticity in sharing ourselves with all our flaws, insecurities, and fears, but also in our resilience during these times. I choose to find my own wild path, less groomed and certainly not paved.” - Anne Siems
