Gregory Blackstock The Incomplete Historical World, Part I Please refer to website for any updates on hours and programming

Gregory Blackstock began drawing his iconic images in his mid-forties. Since then, Blackstock’s work has gained increasing visibility within the art world and his drawings reside in museums and private collections worldwide. Now 74 years old, with increasing physical limitations, his output has slowed to only a few labor intensive drawings per year. Working with his family, we conceived of this suite of prints as a way to both supplement his artistic output and expose a new audience to his drawings. In this first suite of prints, we have curated a selection reflecting the range of his oeuvre thus far. Images taken from his taxonomies of the natural world (birds, animals, insects and plants) are seen in context with his encyclopedic view of the manmade world (clothing, cars, buildings) to create the macrocosm which is Blackstock’s world. There are 16 images in the suite, each based on an original drawing. Each image is printed in numbered editions of 20, signed by the artist. The digital pigment prints range in size from 24 x 14 inches to 24 x 20 inches.

Eternal Landscape

APRIL 2 - 30, 2020

Temples of Northern Light, 40 x 60 in., oil on canvas

VIRTUAL OPENING APRIL 2 VISIT OUR WEBSITE FOR DETAILS

www.rovzargallery.com The paintings of Leslie Wu are gleaned from memory, experience, and observation, reflecting a deep inquiry into how landscape effects our psyche. Wu has lived in the Northwest for 14 years and in this body of work she focuses on her relationship to the power of its beauty. With a subtle and contemplative touch inspired by 19th century German Romantic landscape painter Casper David Friedrich, Wu awakens the light and atmosphere of the Northwest and creates meaningful connections, seen and unseen, to the infinite power and timelessness of the natural realm.

We will resume normal operations, as soon as we are all safe to do so. How is PRG supporting our artists and satisfying our clients? We are happy to help you navigate through our great website, and we are offering our expert photoshop skills for you to virtually experience our art in situ. We appreciate your patronage and ongoing support of our artistic community during this troubling time.
