Ar t ist Me e t & Gre e t: Sat u rd ay, Ap r il 9, 1 2-2 p m Our in-person events are back! Join us to celebrate and dialog with the artist. For Ivy Jacobsen, painting is its own form of communication, one that is deeper and more intuitive than words. She approaches her process with much the same kind of wonder and curiosity that she experiences in the outdoors, allowing herself to get lost, throwing away concrete plans, struggling through obstacles, and following only her instincts. As she taps into this creative pulse, Jacobsen discovers a flowing rhythm that leads her for ward. With a sense of love and fascination for our natural world, she paints with oils, acrylics, collage, and resin to create an illusion of deep space intermingled with flowers, plants and botanicals. The imagery is both real and imagined, with whimsical and diverse elements coexisting together. Jacobsen plays with our perception, hinting at what could be, taking us to unknown places that tap into the mysterious vein that runs through all living things.
