MARK BECK MESSAGE FROM THE SUN JU LY 5 - 28, 20 22
Ar t i st Me e t & Gre et : Sat u rd ay, Ju l y 9, 3 -5 pm
Monument, acrylic on canvas, 30 x 48 in.
“ Whether I paint skies, roads, houses or trees, I use light and shadow in a very deliberate way to communicate my ideas and emotions. I am interested in light as a life-giving force that binds us— a common presence we feel in our separate lives, reminding us of our shared reality. In this body of work , I have chosen the sun as a symbol, and I define it as a unifying message of love. My objective in painting this exhibition is to express the beautiful and poetic power of light, and I hope the message that is discovered is one that leads us out of darkness and reveals truth and beauty in all its manifestations.” - Mark Beck

William Hernandez, Individually, We are One Drop. Together, We are an Ocean, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 20 inches
J U LY 7 - A U G U S T 2 0 , 20 2 2 Peruvian-American painter William Hernandez creates softly surreal narratives blending references from his past, the world around him, literature, history and mythology. A story in three parts, I WISH I COULD captures a timelapse of the artist’s life during the pandemic, reflecting on the importance of our personal and global relationships during times of transition.
