University of Miami Brings Home another Award Every industry has its own “awards show.” The Grammys are the big show honoring the best in music. From record to the best children’s album of the year, the Grammys honor the best in music everywhere. It’s the same for the Oscar’s. Only instead of just honoring the artists, the Oscar is truly a representation of the work of a whole host of individuals. From the producer down to the guy that delivers the coffee, every single person involved in a film is honored when an Oscar for best motion picture is handed down. Even when it comes down to the award for best lead, no star is a star without the help of everyone involved. And that crew is honored every year at the famous Oscars.

The Telly’s The University of Miami recently won an award much like the Grammys or the Oscars for their work in commercial creation. Believe it or not, a commercial can be just as beautiful and award worthy as any film that hits the blue screens in theaters. It just depends on how well done the commercial is. The University of Miami made it in the commercial world with their submission of “Building Champions” to the Telly Awards. The Telly Awards are one of the most sought after awards in the industry. Over 11,000 entries poured into the Telly’s inbox this year from all 50 states. The University of Miami moved up through all the competition and won a bronze award. According to the Telly Awards website, awards start at the silver level. Only two statues are awards: silver, and bronze. To receive either is a huge honor, and the University of Miami brings that bronze statue home with pride from the 34th Annual Telly Awards. “Building Champions” is a new campaign asking for the support of new students, alumni, and investors alike to build champions at the U of M.

Training Champions The U. of M. has had a long history of champions. That said, champions are continually being trained with the help of the entire team, they aren’t born. It takes time, effort, and money to train the way champions need to. With that in mind, the commercial asks for the support of the world to help build the champions of tomorrow. It portrays the athletes, past and present in University of Miami apparel, seeking the support of interested folks. Those University of Miami apparel clad students believe in the championlike qualities of the school and want you to too. You too can take part in building champions by donating to their cause. Their masterful storytelling through the commercial not only gathered them their needed support, but it also awarded them much more attention due to their winning of a Telly. Winning awards at the Tellys seems to becoming a habit of the University of Miami. At the 33rd awards ceremony, they walked away with two bronze awards for their work on “Raising Canes.” “Raising Canes” was a documentary series designed to give you a look into what it makes to make a successful team at the U of M. That documentary caught the attention of the Tellys. So congratulations to the U of M for bringing home such a prestigious award. Their work will continue to draw support from fans everywhere.
