It is a common, if not universally felt desire of individuals to draw near the end of something with limited to no strength left or, put in other words, with nothing left in the tank. With all the excitement of graduation and future plans clouding the thinking process of seniors, the common mental state know as senioritis begins to take its effect on students. Senioritis can cause otherwise successful students to falter and run into complications in their last semester of school, during that final stretch of time when all they need to is hold on for a few more weeks of schooling until they can put aside the textbooks and Arizona State apparel forever.
How to Organize Your Time A graduating student from Arizona State can fight back, however, against the damaging effects of senioritis by implementing a few new tricks to round out their college career. The first step that a college senior can take toward conquering senioritis is by planning ahead for it. By taking just a few hours to plan before the final semester of class senior year, a college student will be able to plan out their last semester with the understanding that senioritis may possible take effect. By planning their time with this senior condition in mind, a student will be able to do things like schedule in vacations or breaks where they think they will need them and likewise schedule in periods when they have to buckle down and get some work done. With all of the projects coming due in the last few weeks and graduation looming, taking a weekend road trip with friends or loved ones can give the student the rest they will need to finish their collegiate careers strong. Taking the occasional break from the rigors of school can likewise allow a student to remember why they are going to school and why they need to finish their last semester strong.
Considering Mentoring Part-Time But it may be necessary for a senior college student to do more than simply plan out breaks every couple weeks of their last semester. And one of the best ways to do more than simply plan out vacations to avoid senioritis and to remain focused on the tasks of the last couple weeks of school is to begin mentoring a freshman student. Mentoring others has a way of keeping you, the mentoring senior, on track and productive just as much as it has a positive effect on the person being mentored. Volunteer mentoring programs exist in many of the nation’s colleges and universities including Arizona State and can be an excellent way for a senior to give back to their school while simultaneously keeping themselves focused through the last stretch of school.
