Sonakshi keeps posting her workout videos and yoga videos on her Instagram account to connect with her followers. The beautiful diva is currently gearing up for her release, 'Welcome to New York' – a comedy caper and is on a promotional spree for her film. However, it's her drastic transformation that has everyone hooked on her amazing fashion sense.
Some other round of looks of the Welcome to New York actress: Welcome To New York is a heartfelt, rib-tickling comedy that tells the story of two unlikely youngsters living in India in search of a better life for themselves. An unexpected trip to New York City sets them off on a comedic adventure that changes their lives forever. The film boasts of a massive ensemble cast with the likes of Karan Johar in a never seen before double role, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rana Daggubati.
From wearing comfy sports attire with sass to pairing up semi off-shoulder pant suits, the 'Dabangg' girl is slaying it with her quirky yet elegant persona. At one of the reality shows, India's Next Superstar, she chose to wear a black sequenced jumpsuit with a low ponytail and kept it minimal with nude make-up. In another round of the promotions, she was seen wearing this powdered-blue suit, which complimented the actress.
Sonakshi Sinha Says She Derived Inspiration From Govinda For Her First Over-The-Top Comic Act In Welcome To New York Set to tickle funny bones in the upcoming Vashu Bhagnani venture, Welcome To New York, Sonakshi Sinha says she had industry veteran Govinda for inspiration. "Govinda sir will always remain the king of comedy," she says, she also finds actor Sridevi's timing impeccable. "I have grown up watching their films. Comedy comes naturally to them. Their timing is perfect. They can light up the screen within moments." After dabbling in different genres over the past few years - drama (Noor), thriller (Ittefaq) and action (Akira and Force 2) - Sinha says her decision to green light the comedy stemmed from the desire to work on a "light and funny" project. "I love to make people chuckle, and enjoy cracking up as well. A great deal of improvisation was done on set, so, the unit was in splits while filming." Sinha describes her character in Chakri Toleti's directorial venture as "a dhinchak modern-day girl". "She is a budding fashion designer, with a quirky sense of style." Welcome To New York also pairs her with Dabangg co-star Salman Khan, with whom she features in the song, Nain Phisal Gaye. Sinha calls her reunion with the actor she debuted with as a "welcoming" one.

INTERVIEWS
Even at 90, Iíll be in love. admits Anurag Kashyap Some folks are good at courting chaos. They thrive on the madness, the blitz and living on the edge. Yet, they have an uncanny ability to cull out genuine grit and gumption from the most intimidating of bedlam. Anurag Kashyap is one such artiste. Heís a fierce filmmaker, whoís had as much drama, if not more, in his personal life as in his films. But heís never shied away from controversy or from the spotlight. He hasnít just survived showbiz, heís changed it and heís tamed it. Not one to mince words, heís unapologetic and blazingly confident. Spend an hour exchanging ideas with him and you wonít miss caffeine. Heíll give you a rush. He talks about the most inconvenient truths of life like theyíre vanilla. And yet, nothing in Anuragís oeuvre can be bland. He spikes up everything with unabashed candour. In a fiery interview, about everything from his latest film Mukkabaaz to the myriad relationships and rumours that fuel his career, the gritty storyteller takes it all on the chin... How did Mukkabaaz come about? Vineet Kumar Singh, its lead actor, had written a script called Olympic. He wanted me to read it as it was rejected by everyone. After reading the script. I told him thereís no boxing ethos in India to justify a Rocky like film. What made sense in the script were the actual problems faced by sportsmen around India. It came from Vineetís own experiences of being a national level athlete. That element was great to explore as it came from an honest place. I told him Iíd direct the film only if he trained in boxing. Because I wouldnít have the budget to hire boxing choreographers. Iíd be putting him in the ring with real boxers and heíd have to put up a real fight. He sold everything he had, went to Punjab, trained for a year and came back as a boxer. Aanand L Rai is co-producing the film. How did this collaboration come about? Aanandji asked me to direct Manmarziyan. I liked the strong character-driven film. But I wanted to make Mukkabaaz first. He said letís do both. He didnít even ask whoíd be in the film. He trusts his directors and gives them creative freedom. I took Vineet Kumar Singh and Zoya Hussain to meet him. His reaction on seeing Vineet was, ëI know him, heís a damn good actorí. He praised Zoya when he saw her work and recommended her for other films. Thatís how you empower people. Thatís what I used to do...
March 2018 | Global Movie
What is made you stop doing that now? I donít have the energy. Iím tired. I want to make my own films. Aanandji understands the business. Iím a creative person. I donít understand the business. He understands the balance between the business and being creative. He works at his own pace, aaram se. My need to keep making films is too much. Earlier, I used to push people to do their own thing. Most of them went on to make their own films. Later, they started pulling down each other. Ironically, the independent filmmakers pull each other down more than mainstream filmmakers. Theyíre caught up in their own greatness. There are rumours that your production house, Phantom, is in trouble? No, Phantom is doing well. Weíre getting into three medium-budget films and two big budget films. Weíre collaborating on Kabir Khanís 1983. Vikas (Bahl) is involved in his own film Super 30. Vikram (Vikramaditya Motwane) and I are involved in a Netflix product. Iím doing Mukkabaaz, which is co-produced by Phantom and Manmarziyan as well. So are Vikas Bahl and you still friends? Yes, weíre friends. We talk to each other. Issues have been addressed. Heís still at Phantom. Itís just that now we have found our own space, our own comfort zone to work in. Was the debacle of Bombay Velvet the lowest phase in your career? No. Amrish Puriji once said that industry mein do hi baar g@#$ phatati hai ñ when you have too much work or when you donít have work at all. Iíve always had work. But people expect you to live in a certain way. People have a problem when I travel in a rickshaw. People have a problem about me not living in Bandra. People have a problem about me owning the same car for seven years. Itís not a problem for me. Iím comfortable. The idea of success for me is that I should have the freedom to do all that I want to do. Yes, on a personal level it was a big low because a lot of things were falling apart at the same time. My films werenít working, my bank accounts were frozen, my marriage was breaking up. Everything was going wrong. But itís alleged that you made a lot of money from Bombay Velvet...
People can say anything. Iím not going to sit back and waste my life on that. Iíve realised itís healthy to be away from people because then you start living life around their expectations. People believed that I was the messiah for lowbudget independent movies. But Iím not. I believed in a certain kind of cinema and certain kind of people. I supported them till I could. Where do you see all this heading? As a filmmaker, Iím grateful that Iím not born in Iran or North Korea, which is worse than us. Iím still in a better place. As long as Iím constitutionally given space to stand up for myself, fight for myself, Iím not complaining. Nothing is going to be given to you on a platter. I know so many filmmakers who were ëyesí men to the previous government and are ëyesí men to this one too. Whoever is in power is God for them. Are you happy with the new CBFC chief, Prasoon Joshi, as you were one of those who complained against Pahlaj Nihalani? The jury is still out on him. He sounds intelligent. But heís also bound by his office. It depends on how you interpret the power given to you. I know for sure that with Prasoon Joshi I can sit across the table and argue however difficult the argument. That wasnít possible with Pahlaj Nihalani. Are you still in touch with your ex-wife Kalki Koechlin? Yes, weíre in touch. Weíre still good friends. Iím very happy for her. A lot of people did not give the credit that was due to her. They said she was getting everything because of Anurag. But you canít live your life by what people say. People have no other business except passing comments on others. Recently, rumours have been linking you with your associate at Phantom - Shubhra Shetty... I'm in a relationship after a long time. I donít believe itís anybodyís business to know. Everyone needs to be in love at some stage or the other. I love the emotion of love. Even at 90, Iíll be in love. India has the most number of songs about self-loathing and self-pitying. Ghungroo ki tarah bajta hi raha hoon main... Devdas... But Iíd rather be in love than be heartbroken.

Juuhi Babbar Sonii On Prateik's Marriage: Want To See What Kind Of A Husband Does He Become "Maybe, it's a comeback because I'm coming back to the screens after a really long time," says actress Juuhi Babbar Sonii, daughter of the veteran actor - Raj Babbar. A theatre fanatic with 'go with the flow' attitude, Juuhi has faced the cameras for Neeraj Pandey's espionage thriller, 'Aiyaary' as army officer Manoj Bajpayee's strength- his wife's character. Why there wouldn't be any other film better for a comeback, why did she shy away from the cameras, looking at political avenues, her life's special event, finding love the second time with Annup Sonii, her son Imman and her relationship with half-brother, Prateik Babbar, who is all set to tie the knot with girlfriend Sanya Sagar – the actress has literally poured her heart out in this candid conversation with mid-day online.
March 2018 | Global Movie
How has it been working for Aiyaary? Super-good, fantastic! I couldn't have asked for something better than this. thanks for watching! After spending so many years in the film, television and theatre genre, do you think to term your work as a 'comeback' justifies you? 'Comeback' maybe because I am back to the screen after very long, which is fine. I'm not sure if it is a comeback because I don't know if I have really come back. I cannot say that right after tomorrow I'll be shooting back to back and now I have arrived and there's no looking back. For years and years, I did not take up cinema because I was not getting the kind of work that I wanted to do. So, a lot of things were happening
and my past life was taking weird turns and then finally Anuup Sonii (husband) happened to me, which is probably the most amazing thing to happen. Even more amazing than Anuup is the arrival of Imaan (5-year-old son) in my life. So, the role that became more pre-dominant was motherhood.
You've directed many theatre plays. Any plans of directing a feature film? I don't really know. There are a lot of acting opportunities that are coming up. I know that there is a director in me somewhere and I had left everything behind. Let's see what all comes in the forefront.
Continue‌ I've just been with Imaan, I've hardly been performing theatres, priority wise there has been a change. So, I had thought that when Imaan is around 5, I will once again consider films. There were film offers now and then. But then it was at stages when I was expecting my child, or when I had just had him. Television offers came in bulk. Thankfully, every month I would get 4-5 calls. Television has really long working hours and I don't need to do that. Gratefully, my husband has been very supportive. There is no ambition as such, there is no crazy rattle when you are younger and in the heroine category, there's much pressure. But now, one is looking at good roles and character actor. If it happens fine or else I have a bigger role to play at home.
Do you ever feel the urge of directing a particular actor from the current generation, if you take up direction for a full-fledged film? I am very fond of Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. They are also very lucky because they've really got roles that showed all kinds of shades of them. I would also love to direct my dad, Raj Babbar.
Do you and your husband discuss work with each other? Yes! In fact, he is the reason that I have done 'Aiyaary'. I got a call from Neeraj Pandey and he asked me to meet him. I asked Annup, 'Should I go, I'm not too sure about the length of the role.' So, he said that you should go and meet Neeraj sir and even if he asks you to do one scene, just say 'yes'. You don't come without saying a yes to this house. He said, 'You're getting a Neeraj Pandey film just by sitting at home, are you crazy to reject it?' How was it working with Manoj Bajpayee? Fantastic! What better than a Neeraj Pandey film and an actor like Manoj Bajpayee! I couldn't have asked for anything better. I play Manoj Bajpayee's wife in the film and all my scenes are with him. There aren't any crazy, dramatic moments; she is diligent like an army officer's wife. The strength, the confidence, the concern, the standing by, keeping secrets, all these characteristics are all evident in those many scenes. How was it to know Sidharth Malhotra? Actually, all my scenes were only with Manoj. We, of course, met on the sets and I think for Sidharth this is a very important film. I give him a lot of credit for this because being from this generation and breaking the rules, experimenting different avenues with niche cinema is really commendable. He's looking good in the movie and has worked very hard.
Any political aspirations? I have campaigned for my dad every time and they have been really strong, if I may say so. Right now, not definitely. My son is only five. Let's see if I get more work in cinema then I'll be happy doing this. I don't say no to politics but the time hasn't come yet for sure. Also, Prateik is soon going to get married, what kind of an equation do you share with him? I am blessed because I have a mother like Nadira Babbar, who has always taught me to look at Aarya (brother) and Prateik (half-brother) with the same eye. Prateik has matured in a way that is beautiful. Seeing that the situations of the relationships are so sensitive that it can get so complicated but God has been very kind to us. There is this beautiful bond between us. It seems funny that he is getting married because I still see him as a baby. That's the problem when you're the elder one and have younger siblings, who have literally played in your arms and now suddenly they are getting married. I am really looking forward to this wedding because he's a great lover. I've seen him the way he loves and pampers his girl. Now I want to see what kind of a husband does he become. Also, women's day is on March 8, any message for the women around? Well, I am a huge supporter of motherhood and I would love to say this to all women that 'by choice' have a child. I have friends who say that we have decided not to have a child. You've not even gone through this. So, how do you know? I think we have been created by God to procreate and are incomplete without it. I could be wrong because some feminists might say that I'm saying the worst thing. I think that my personality, my confidence or my womanhood has come alive only after I became a mother. February 2018 | Global Movie

Best known for essaying poles apart roles - ranging from playing a gun-toting gangster Faizal Khan in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ to a hilariously funny journalist in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ Nawazuddin Siddiqui thinks it is the ‘Bollywood hero’ who becomes stereotypical with time, but the actors do not.
“It’s only in India that the films are assorted into different categories like parallel cinema or commercial cinema. I think in reality, films can be of only two types-- it is either a good film or a bad film. If it’s a good film, it is appreciated by everyone, be it the intellectuals or the working class.”
In an interview with IANS, one of the most versatile performers of present day Bollywood talked about evolution of Indian films, lack of audience in theatres as well as his methods and aspirations as an actor.
Siddiqui, who has played challenging roles like that of a serial killer in ‘Raman Ragav 2.0’ and is set to play Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, dreams of playing characters like Leonardo DiCaprio’s in 2013 Hollywood flick ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and Dilip Kumar’s “I think only the heroes can become stereotypical, not portrayal of Salim in the iconic historical drama actors. The actor from Budhana in Uttar Pradesh, who initially “It is not that parallel or content based films are a new struggled to get a break in films for not being ‘herothing in the industry. I think we still have a long way to go.” “I cannot claim it would be easier for new kids to get work in films because of what I have achieved. But “Cinema is an art seen by thousands of people. So films should have such a among the average looking actors that if someone with quality that it can be enjoyed by everyone. It should be the looks of Nawaz can thrive in the industry, so can all-encompassing,” Siddiqui said, terming films as “art we.” for all”. “We cannot blame the audience for not coming to the theatres. The makers should also think about the audience. In some cases, the filmmakers themselves do not see their films twice. How can they expect the audience to come and see it?” he questioned. He also criticised the idea of categorising films as commercial or parallel. February 2018 | Global Movie

Deepika Padukone: I miss having my father around to talk to after a stressful day Some people attract news, some people make news and some people are just newsworthy. My subject for the day is one of those newsworthy candidates, whose every move is singled out, whose every fashion cut is front page headlines, and whose movies burn up the box office charts. Deepika is a head-turner and her latest film, Padmaavat, is making waves that have reached tsunami heights at the box office. So how does Deepika survive the crazy world of showbiz and what sacrifices has she made to reach the pinnacle of her career? On a lazy February afternoon, I caught up with the queen of the movies to congratulate her on the success of Padmaavat and understand how she’s processing all this success.
The one sentiment that echoed through our conversation is how much she misses her family. The fact that she can’t have the comfort of having home-cooked meals or speak to her parents in person, is a big void. But this void has been filled with utmost passion and dedication towards her art. Success didn’t come easy for Deepika and she worked really hard to reach the place where she’s at right now. There were naysayers and trade pundits who predicted a short shelf life despite her blockbuster debut film, Om Shanti Om. Not everything she touched turned to gold; there were debacles and reviews that questioned her talent. But despite the doubts and criticism what stayed persistent was Deepika’s undying passion for her work and her hunger to improve with every film.

VARUN DHAWAN REVEALS THE WORST PICK-UP LINE USED ON HIM: YOU ARE LOOKING VERY ROUGH, CAN I OIL YOU? Varun Dhawan gave us a tease of his next film, October a few days ago. The World of October video, which was released on Valentine’s Day, gave us a glimpse into the film’s world and characters. From the warm, affectionate sensation to the emotional characters, we observed quite a few things in the 30-second long teaser. But wanting to know more about the film, we interviewed Varun Dhawan and Shoojit Sircar (director) recently and we must say it was quite an interesting conversation. Not only did we speak about the film, but also the teaser, the love story, debutante Banita Sandhu and much more. However, it was the Valentine’s Day rapid fire that was the most interesting segment that we had with the stars. During the game, Varun and Shoojit not only told what couples should do and should not do, but also revealed to us the worst pick-up lines that have been used on them. And Varun’s revelation will surely leave you shocked! The actor mentioned to us exclusively, “For me, someone told me, ‘You are looking very rough, can I oil you.’ This the most absurd thing someone has told me till date,” gave away Varun. Hilarious, isn’t it? Shoojit, on the other hand, added, “For me the worst pick-up line is when someone directly says I love you!” In the meantime, Shoojit Sircar’s October is all set to hit the screens on April 13. Starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu, the film is a slice of life love story which shows the titular character’s take on love and relationships. With the teaser, trailer and songs set to be launched pretty soon, stay tuned to BollywoodLife as we get you all the dope and updates about October right here. February 2018 | Global Movie
SUNIDHI CHAUHAN: THOSE 45 DAYS OF MY LIFE WITH SRIDEVIJI, WAS THE BEST PHASE OF MY LIFE Sunidhi had a fangirl moment when Sridevi spoke to her for the first time
Sridevi’s death left everyone shocked. Not only fans and celebs, but the entire nation is mourning the sudden demise of this legendary actress. She spent almost 3-4 decades in this industry and this loss is too hard to believe. While some have known her as a friend and colleague, some grew up adoring her personality from their childhood before they entered this industry. Among those is singer Sunidhi Chauhan, who is a huge fan of Sridevi. Sunidhi is still in a shock and grieving the huge loss. She said, “For me, it is the greatest loss because I have always been a fan of her from childhood.” Moreover, the singer got an opportunity to spend time with Sridevi in her childhood, when she went for a tour. “My dream came true when I got to travel with her for a month long, actually 45 days, thanks to Kalyanji bhai who put me on the tour. I was 11 years old. I watched Sridevi with Jahnvi in her hands, I saw her everyday. I saw her travelling with us. So it was like living in a dream,” stated Sunidhi. She further added, “Those 45 days of my life, was the best phase of my life because I love her and I am such a huge fan of her. I saw her perform live, I saw her talk.” Sunidhi had a fangirl moment when Sridevi spoke to her for the first time. She said, “I remember very clearly. Once when we were travelling and we were at the airport, she was sitting on a chair and a seat next to her was free because she was holding Jahnvi in her hands and very sweetly, she said you can sit. Those were her first words to me, after our first show, as we were travelling through the city. And oh my god, I heard her speak. I went and sat next to her and I saw this humongous personality with this aura, even bigger, and I couldn’t believe she spoke to me because it was so unreal.”
March 2018 | Global Movie
Sunidhi feels lucky as she got the chance to sing for her movie. She said, “At that point in my childhood, I never thought that I would get a chance to sing for her. But surprisingly it happened, when she made her comeback with English Vinglish, I sang the song Navrai Majhi for her. And then when I saw her performing to it with my voice, in the theatre, I became emotional.” The singer is still in shock after getting the news. She said, “I still do not want to believe that Srideviji is gone. I will always be in shock. I don’t think I will ever believe she is gone.” The whole world is in grief. Sridevi’s mortal remains will be brought to India today and the funeral will be conducted afterwards. Fans and celebs are paying their condolences to the family.
Aditi Rao Hydari: Versatility Is Very Important For Me Having Done Films As Different As Chalk And Cheese Like London, Paris, New York, Bhoomi And Padmaavat, Actress Aditi Rao Hydari Says Versatility Is Very Important For Her Having done films as different as chalk and cheese like London, Paris, New York, Bhoomi and Padmaavat, actress Aditi Rao Hydari says versatility is very important for her. Asked why she's majorly done multi-starrer projects, Aditi told IANS in a recorded response: "I have done a mix of different kinds of cinema. I have done films like 'London, Paris, New York' or 'Murder 3' where it's just about one person or two people or 'Bhoomi' for that matter... I have done lots of those and I have also not shied away from films which are multi-starrers because for me a film is all about the director and the team that makes a film and about the script and character I am playing." Aditi says she is inspired by the way international artists work. "Like people in the West, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman or Brad Pitt and all the amazing actors... they also do a mix of different kinds of cinema. So, here even I am inspired with that way of working and I also do a sort of mix of different kinds of films. "I think versatility for me is very important," she added. The "Wazir" actress stresses that cinema is a director's vision. "And I completely surrender to the director's vision and I am like putty in their hands and they mould me. So, that's the way I work and I like to be challenged," she added. Aditi has also worked in the south Indian film industry. She was seen in "Prajapathi", "Sringaram" and "Kaatru Veliyidai". Talking about working in the south Indian film industry, she said: "Films are about feelings... Feelings don't have a language... they are universal. So, I consider myself blessed that pan-Indian audiences are watching my films and I am being given these opportunities to work with some of the greatest directors of our country." The "Murder 3" actress considers herself blessed for getting all the opportunities as an "actor who does not have any backing and who has come into the industry just because I love
being in front of the camera". Aditi, who was in Chennai last week to unveil the Summer-Spring 2018 collection of the watch brand Swatch, says it is not about the region, boundaries or language. "It is about the director and the team that makes the film. It's their vision and I give myself completely to that vision. So I don't want language to ever come in my way. Whether it is in India or abroad... If there is a director I am dying to work with I will work extra hard and do that film," she added. After the success of her latest release "Padmaavat", Aditi is now gearing up for her next film with filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The actress considers herself lucky to work with the filmmaker for the second time. "I can't tell you anything about the film. But I consider myself very blessed to be working with Mani sir again. Mani sir and the Madras Talkies team is like family... and to be picked the second time to work with him is really more than what I ever imagined," she said. Aditi says she really loves working with Mani Ratnam as he challenges her. "I am always up for the challenges and I look forward to beginning work. It is a multi-starrer and there are some amazing actors in it. I am a little nervous but also looking forward to working with them. I think with amazing people on set, hopefully my performance will also be better. It's going to be tough but I am looking forward," she added. February 2018 | Global Movie

Did Aiyaary star Sidharth Malhotra pass our Army Test? Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee‘s Aiyaary is all set to hit the screens this Friday (February 16). And while everyone is eager to see the movie, we put the actor to an interesting test just before the film’s release. For the uninitiated, Sid plays an army officer, who goes rogue in the movie. His mentor (Manoj Bajpayee) tries to track him down, but will he be successful? With so much army background in Aiyaary, we decided to play a small Army quiz with Sidharth Malhotra and here’s what happened next. From talking about the Indian Army hierarchy to the missiles used by our country and the highest battlefield at which our jawans protect the nation, Sidharth answered all our questions. The actor did face a few difficulties while telling us about the highest bridge that our Armed Forces have built and the countries with the largest military forces, but then again those were expert level questions. Quite clearly Sid passed our Army Quiz with flying colours and we have to give him a huge round of applause. The actor has surely done his homework for the movie. Anyway, check out the entire quiz and his answers in the video above and share with us your thoughts about it in the comments section below! Directed by Neeraj Pandey, Aiyaary is an inspirational film that will surely make you respect our army jawans even more than ever. Also starring Manoj Bajpayee and Rakul Preet Singh, the film was earlier set to release on January 26, but it was postponed twice because of various reasons including Padmaavat‘s decision to release their film during the Republic Day weekend and the censor certification issues. It was for his Campa Cola advertisement, so, he used to take me out for parties." "One day, he kept his arm around me and said 'Salman, I don't think you should waste your time by spending your father's money'. Though he said that jokingly, I didn't take that as a joke. Straight after that, I started working and till today, I don't take holidays." If he is not doing films or not feeling well then also he keeps himself busy. "I see a lot of people going on vacations, but I cannot afford that luxury of taking a vacation. I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can't afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me," he said. Superstar Salman Khan, Who Is Busy Shooting For His Upcoming Film Race 3, Says He Cant Afford The Luxury Of Being Depressed Or Emotional Superstar Salman Khan, who is busy shooting for his upcoming film Race 3, says he cant afford the luxury of being depressed or emotional. DEAR BOLLYWOOD, DON’T YOU DARE REMAKE THESE ICONIC SRIDEVI FILMS Please leave these films of Sridevi alone!
Sridevi is gone and all we have left with are her 300 films to remember her by. It’s so heartbreaking that within a few hours one of the legends of Bollywood, left us grieving for her. Not that she was often seen on big screen lately, but the fact that she was doing some of the best films in the coming years, was making us really hopeful of good cinema. But Bollywood has a way of paying tribute to such legends and that makes us a bit wary that we will soon see some sub-par do-over of Sridevi’s iconic movies. But since the lady has done so many films, most of them being cult favourites, it must be difficult for filmmakers to figure out which movie to stay away from. No worries, we have you covered here. Check out the list right here…

Lamhe
Sadma
Lamhe is perhaps the best film Yash Chopra has ever directed, at least that’s what we believe. It was ahead of its time. In those days, the audience was not so open to the idea of a mature love story. In fact, Chopra handled it very delicately, with Anil Kapoor reminding Sridevi many times in the movie, that there is a huge age gap. The actress was simply unbelievable in this movie. She played the double role of a mother and daughter. While she was the coy woman in love in the first half, she was also the vivacious and free-spirited daughter in the second half of the film. Dealing with two roles in one film is a big deal. We doubt there is anyone in Bollywood currently who can do it well.
A few days ago, there were talks about a remake of this Kamal Haasan -Sridevi film and the news gave us sadma (Excuse the pun, understand the feeling). No one, and we repeat, no one has the talent to reprise her role here. It’s impossible because to play a girl with mental illness that made her behave like a kid is not an easy task. You need to have that kind of innocence. Sridevi had that inherently and so, Sadma should be left alone. Reports suggested that the remake was planned with Vidya Balan and Kareena Kapoor but both turned it down. Balan had said she would never accept the remake of this timeless movie and we are happy she said no.
Chandni Chandni is one of the most empowering movies of that time. A woman who just wanted to be by her boyfriend’s side, who was struck by tragedy. But she is humiliated by her own love – it’s a really complicated character that Sridevi performed effortlessly. It’s difficult to envision anyone else in that role. She had a child-like innocence in the film but her character was so level-headed and clear about what she wanted from life.
Chaalbaaz There were reports that Katrina Kaif will be part of Seeta Aur Geeta remake. In fact, Chalbaaz was based on a similar concept. But we would request filmmakers to not remake it. Chalbaaz has shaped our childhood. We can’t imagine anyone else being Anju and Manju in any film. If Sridevi was the docile and tame Anju who couldn’t defend herself, she was also Manju who would not take no for an answer. She played two diametrically different characters with so much finesse that we don’t want it to be tarnished. Let it be!
Mr India Mr India is what our childhood was all about. It might sound wrong but since we were so in love with that film, we didn’t even mind being one of those orphan kids that Anil Kapoor took under his wing. Sridevi played a snooty reporter, who later becomes Mr. India’s accomplice. The range she showed in the film was simply amazing. Her comic scenes were one of the best ones that we have seen. In fact, women in films are hardly known for funny scenes but Sridevi, as always, was an exception. Even today, there’s no actress who has a good comic timing in Bollywood except her. So, with Sridevi gone, all plans of rebooting Mr India should be cancelled!
Laadla People have always spoken about how child-like Sridevi was in her films. There was innocence in every character she played. But in Laadla, she shed it all to play this shrewd, conniving and calculating woman who can do anything to win. Sridevi has very rarely done a character with grey shades and thus Ladlaa will always be special. Hence, it’s a humble request to all the filmmakers. We know remakes are money-spinners but please don’t touch these iconic Sridevi movies. Let them just be her films… the only place we will ever see her again.

Not a love story, Sonakshi Sinha reveals what would be her dream project with Karan Johar Sonakshi Sinha’s Welcome To New York has hit the marquee this week. The film is totally different from the rest in terms of its vibe. We know that Sona is playing a Gujarati OTT fashion designer in the film and her character has been received well. She is romancing Punjabi heartthrob Diljit Dosanjh in the film. The film has been shot at the same time when the IIFA was happening in New York. we caught up with the actress and asked her how was it to shoot when the award show was on. Sona tells us that it was chaos but a lot of fun. One of the scenes that is most talked about is when Riteish Deshmukh asks Karan Johar if he would make a big budget flick with him in the lead. It is one of the most hilarious scenes in the trailer. We ask Sona what kind of film would she like to do with Karan Johar. Her answer is rather surprising. She does not want to do a typical love story with KJo but a film where she gets to kick butt. Their prior collaboration was Ittefaq, which was a reprised version of the Rajesh Khanna – Nanda flick. Welcome To New York is a comic caper featuring a fashion designer and a sloppy investigator. Sona also has Dabangg 3 in her hand and Nikhil Advani’s film based on the Batla House case of Delhi. Recalling Sridevi's Interview Quotes That Reflected Her Simplicity She Was Sensitive And Simplicity Was Part Of Her Soul And These Small Interview Excerpts Say It All. Read On
Her take on Today's media
A doting mother
Then, there wasn't much media. There was a mystery around the stars. It's different now, but that's fine. Today's generation wants to know more about actors, so it's fine. We have to live with that.
While we may slog, we are protective of our children and don't want them to be exposed to stress and turmoil.
The stardom I am simple, all these praises scare me. I feel like a newcomer.
Films were always there. I wasn't excited about any offer till Gauri Shinde came to me with English Vinglish. It just took a second to say yes after hearing the script.
The Real Sridevi
Talking about Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor
Some people think that I am arrogant, but I am genuinely a private and shy person. I open up to people who are close to me and with them, I am a different person.
I am still enjoying motherhood. There are some tough moments too. Like when my girls fall ill, it is a tough time for me.

09. KATRINA KAIF (RS. 2.60 CRORE) Katrina Kaif’s stars are not shining that bright these days as majority of her films are failing one after another at the ticket window, but that did not stop the actress from filing her income tax returns for the year 2016. Despite the failure of her films, the ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ actress went ahead and paid around Rs. 2.60 crores as advance tax in the year gone by and became ninth highest tax payers in Bollywood. A British Indian model-turned-actress, Katrina remains a favorite among movie makers and advertisers alike. Her popularity never ceases to surprise her critics who on no occasion miss a chance to throw shade on her. But not at all perturbed by the criticism coming her way, the gorgeous actress keeps working hard every day and makes a lot of money. Remember, Hindi film industry is not the only stream where she makes her money from. Apart from films, her demand in advertising world is always high. The actress, who has also been part of Telugu and Malayalam films, has been brand ambassador of many premium brands in the past and currently has a number
of other popular brands in her kitty. Named as Asia’s sexiest woman multiple times and the recipient of “Smita Patil Memorial Award”, Katrina Kaif did two films last year, ‘Fitoor’ with Aditya Roy Kapur and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ with Sidharth Malhotra. Unfortunately, both the big budget films tanked at the box office without a trace. Now the actress is looking forward to her next release, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, which stars her former boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, as the male lead and is directed by Anurag Basu. TRIVIA: Katrina Kaif charged Rs. 70 Lakh for ‘Malleeswari’, topping the list of the highest paid actress for a South Indian movie debut.
08. SAIF ALI KHAN (Rs. 3.00 CRORE) Saif Ali Khan, the newest daddy in tinsel town, had no release in 2016, but that does not mean the actor did not make any money last year. Like most of leading Bollywood actors and actresses, Chote Nawab too earned a lot of moolah through brand endorsements and various other sources and forked out Rs. 3.00 crores as advance tax. Currently, he is at the tenth position in the list of top ten highest tax payers in Bollywood, quite close to his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is the tenth highest tax payers. The son of legendary Bollywood actress, Sharmila Tagore, and Indian cricketer, Mansoor Ali Khan, Saif will next be seen in ‘Rangoon’, one of the most awaited films of the year. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainments, the movie also stars Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut in important roles. Since Saif’s last film ‘Phantom’ failed miserably at the box office, the actor has a lot of expectations riding on the film. We hope it works at the ticket window and rakes in huge collections for everyone involved.
Besides ‘Rangoon’, another interesting project that Saif currently has in his hand is a film called ‘Chef, directed by Raja Krishna Menon. A remake of Jon Favreau’s Hollywood film of the same name, the film tells the story of a famous chef who quits his job at an upmarket restaurant after a public argument with a food critic and goes on to start a food truck that becomes famous everywhere. According to latest media reports, Saif has also given his nod to star in Nikhil Advani’s next film ‘Bazaar’. The film is expected to be rolling soon. 07. AISHWARYA RAI (RS. 3.00 CRORE) Former beauty queen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had a fantastic year 2016. She arrived with two big ticket films last year – ‘Sarbjit’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ – and, as good luck would have it, both the movies performed extremely well at the box office and brought the actress in the reckoning once again after she went on a hiatus for her pregnancy. In 2016, Aishwarya disbursed Rs. 3.00 crores as advance tax, which is phenomenal considering the fact that she was away from work for more than five years. Whether Aish does a film or not, but she never fails to hog the whole limelight. You can say that she was away from sets for some time due to her pregnancy and then taking care of her little daughter, but the actress remained in news for one reason or the other. In 2015, she made a comeback to films after a gap of five years with the movie ‘Jazbaa’, directed by Sanjay Gupta. Some would have thought that her fan following must have been on a decline in these many years, but the release of ‘Jazbaa’ and the kind of response the film generated at the box office proved them all wrong in a row. The film turned out to be a successful venture and several movie makers queued up in from of Aish’s doors once again.
Soon after the huge success of ‘Jazbaa’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan signed National Award winner filmmaker Omung Kumar’s ‘Sarbjit’, a biopic based on the life of an Indian farmer who was wrongly convicted for crossing the border. The heart wrenching story of a sister’s struggle to take his brother home from a Pakistani prison tug the right chord of the audience and the film became a hit. Everyone praised Aish’s act in the film. ‘Sarbjit’ was followed by ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, wherein Aishwarya played a seductress and poet. She was appreciated for her performances in the Karan Johar directorial. Nothing has been disclosed about her next project. It is no secret what the actor had to go through when his company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited went bankrupt before 2000. But he never gave up and once again resurrected himself and his career and how. Big B has been on a roll since 2000 and has starred in a number of super hit films like ‘Mohabbatein’ (2000), ‘Baghban’

Being an Ashutosh Gowarikar directorial featuring Hrithik Roshan, it was expected the film would inflame the box-office, but unfortunately it did not fare well at the ticket window. 01. SALMAN KHAN (RS. 20.00 CRORE)
Box office is not the only battle which Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been winning with flying colors for last few years, the actor is leaving his contemporaries far behind in another arena also. Yes, you read that right. By paying Rs. 20 crore as advance tax for the fiscal year 2016, the ‘Dabangg’ star has topped the list of highest taxpayers in Bollywood. SHILPA SHINDE ON WITHDRAWING SEXUAL HARASSMENT CHARGES AGAINST SANJAY KOLHI: IF I WAS A LIAR, I WOULD NOT GET JUSTICE
March 2018 | Global Movie
Shilpa Shinde is in a very happy space. We have seen that she is looking radiant in her latest photoshoot. Latest we hear she withdrew the sexual harassment case filed against Sanjay Kohli, the producer of popular TV show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. They have come to a mutual agreement, and Shilpa’s pending dues have been cleared. In an exclusive interaction, when we asked her how the process of the truce was initiated, she said, “See, this happened before Bigg Boss 11. A lot of people who know the producers and me said, ‘Shilpa, let’s finish this. We are there for you.’ It was like this is a small industry and so on. People knew that I was wronged but no one came forward initially due to their unity. If they did, this would not have happened. Initially, they did not pay me. Later, I got all my pending dues. So, I was like khatam karna hai, khatam karo… Kisko sooli par chadhana hai.” She says the matter ended before she entered Bigg Boss 11, which is why she was much more relaxed. The actress feels things sorted out on their own. “My tiff with Vikas Gupta ended when Salman Khan explained matters to me. He accepted the issue. I was like chalo chod do, bakra halaal ho gaya hai (laughs out loud),” she said. Shilpa also says that it takes a lot of courage to bring forward the issue of sexual harassment and also to move on. “There was no point in dragging it. Friends and artistes who knew us intervened. What happened with me was wrong. I at least wanted my money. I quit because of their wrongdoings. If things were sorted then, matters would not have blown out of proportion,” she opines. The actress has renewed ties in the industry. Has there been a change in perception after her success in Bigg Boss? “I got very little support from the TV industry. Even today, I am hearing stuff that I won because of my cooking and Maharashtrian votes. Their conception about me is unchangeable. Today, where I am is because of my fans. They are so genuine as people. I did not have a PR. It was they who did my PR,” she says. Sexual harassment is a grave charge. When we asked what kind of message would withdrawing such an allegation send out, given that now Shilpa is a huge public figure, she opined, “Logon ko bas suggestions dena hai. The sufferer knows it best. You see the situation and if the other party is accepting his or her mistake, you end it. Sooli par chada kar kuch nahi milega. When I left the show, I was not paid, and the person was expecting something else, which I could not do for me. No one noticed my trauma. Everyone spoke about how I left the show. I told the channel I was not comfortable with the producer but no
one understood. It is a huge thing to say. When I lodged an FIR, I had proof with me. What came to the forefront was real. If my claims were false, no one would have believed me. I had no influence on the police. They claimed I owed them Rs 12.5 crore and were not letting me work. If I was a liar, I would not get justice.”
Well, it seems like the matter ended one and a half year ago and since then, both the parties have maintained silence. It seems there was a mutual agreement not to drag the matter further. However, Shilpa is still upset with Sushant Singh of CINTAA. She says, “It ended before I went to Bigg Boss. Sushant Singh tried his best to prevent me from entering the show. I have nothing against CINTAA though they were useless in helping me get back my hard-earned money. When everything is sorted between producers and me, why does he have to interfere? What kind of enmity does he have against me,” she rues. Well, all’s well that ends well. When we told Shilpa that she is looking stunning nowadays, the lady replied, “I think it is the glow of success. I have always been successful but what has happened this time is different. It is magical. The kind of love I got, the place I made in people’s hearts and the fact that all misconceptions around me were cleared have brought this glow. I am getting a lot of offers but I am very choosy.” February 2018 | Global Movie

REAL LIFE COUPLE SANAM JOHAR AND ABIGAIL PANDE TO ROMANCE IN MTV’S LOVE ON THE RUN Yes, it is! I (Abigail) am the boss here (laughs). But on a serious note, Sanam is extremely dedicated and enthusiastic and I loved working with him. I want to keep working with him.
Sanam Johar and Abigail Pande make one of the cutest couples of television. While one is a pro in dancing, the other is a talented actress. In Nach Baliye, we have seen the duo shake a leg to the beats of music, and entertain the audience with their marvellous performances. They compliment each other and they support each other. That is the key to their relationship. While an orthodox Indian family would not accept live-in relationships, their parents were the ones who supported these two to stay together and discover more about each other. They won hearts as a couple and now, they are returning with MTV’s Love On The Run. In this show, Abigail will portray the role of a dance enthusiast from an affluent family who falls in love with her dance teacher, Sanam. While the couple has just finished the shoot, we got hold of them over a chat and a lot has been revealed. Check out… We have seen Abigail being under pressure while performing with you (Sanam) in Nach Baliye as you are excellent in it. So has it reversed now? Yes, I (Sanam) was under extreme pressure. She is a very good actress and I felt nervous while performing opposite her. Obviously, the pressure is reversed. In the scenes when she is acting opposite me, I felt extremely nervous as I had to reach the level of her acting. Is it different working in MTV’s Love On The Run than Nach Baliye apart from the fact that one is fiction and the other is a reality show?
Any incident to share with us? I (Abigail) also read Sanam’s lines (laughs). I wanted him to be perfect and whenever he used to forget the lines I used to prompt him. So now when you guys are living together, are there any plans of marriage? I (Abigail) will want Sanam to answer this because he gets a little awkward while answering this (laughs). While Abigail started laughing, Sanam said, “We are already married. We are engaged and in a way, we are married. But yes, if you speak about a formal event, then we are waiting for the right time.” Abigail added, “We want to have a nice home in Mumbai and want to get settled a little more, then we will plan the marriage” Have you guys signed any future projects? Not yet. But surely after this goes on air, I (Abigail) and Sanam will get more opportunities to work together. I want to work with Sanam. I want to be around him and with him always. (both laugh) While relationships have become fickle these days, I am really gushing over this cute couple. They are madly in love with each other and never fail to support each other. They make each other comfortable and help each other to excel in the tasks they undertake. They compliment each other amazingly and their love, makes me believe in true love. So I will surely watch the show. Will you? Share your thoughts in the comments below. February 2018 | Global Movie

But mood kharab ho jata hai. It is sad.”The actor also elaborates on how even his parents have not been spared. “They post crappy comments about us and our parents. These people don’t know about our lives . It gets a little too much. These people do not know anything about me to inform my parents about me.”The actor says he understands that TV fan following is pretty crazy. “Kritika and I did a daily soap together in 2009 and it is almost ten years now. People are still living that dream of
hard to reach a certain position and we are also human. We have also had the same kind of life like them. I do not understand why people follow someone and troll that person. They troll a girl for her clothes, character and what not. And the kind of shit people write is really unbelievable. People are hiding behind some accounts and saying whatever,”opines the handsome hunk.
seeing us together. It is like they don’t have jobs,”says Karan. When we pinpointed that Anusha and Kritika are good friends otherwise, he said, “See, they are friends, they talk to each other. I am sure such trolls are present in Kritika’s life as well. But she is much more sensible than me. Mujhe zyada fark nahi padta. Main kaam par dhyaan deta hoon but Indian girls get emotional as we are conditioned like that.”
Yesterday, we read a report where Anusha Dandekar spoke about how she got abused for coming in between Kritika and Karan. When we asked Karan if that affected him, he stated, “No…not me. I don’t really care but people do. We were seen together on screen from 2009 to 2011 but it seems like their life’s purpose is to see us together. We as
The actor feels that troll police is a great initiative to zero down on trolls who hide behind fake IDs and get them in front of celebs. “We do not want to bash them we just want to keep them in front of celebs and make them understand that we are also humans. We have similar problems and a home to go back to,”says Karan. February 2018 | Global Movie
Prince Narula: I do not care if people troll Yuvika and my relationship; we are very happy together Former Roadies and Bigg Boss contestant Prince Narula could not have asked for more in his TV career. He is doing a daily soap, Badho Bahu and a reality show, Roadies Xtreme. This week, he will be seen on the new show, MTV Troll Police, which is making a lot of noise. Bollywood Life caught up with him for an interview. Talking about the new season of Roadies Xtreme, he said, “It is going to be very Xtreme. Everyone will enjoy it a lot due to the new level of challenges. We are not choosing contestants. There is a pool. We are looking at people who are physically fit and ones who can inspire people. This year, we have a lot of girls on the show. The maximum number of girls are here in this season. This has busted the perception that Roadies is just a show for guys. This is the biggest change on the show. We talk about gender equality and we can see it on the show. I feel even girls have understood that there is a lot in the show for them.” He will be coming tomorrow on Troll Police on MTV. Talking about trolls, Prince said, “I do not read trolls. My fans answer them. I was too busy working to be reading all this. My troll raised questions on my work and how I got work on khairat (charity). It is disheartening that a person who does not know me is raising doubts

about what I have done or achieved in life. This particular troll speaks badly about my show. On Troll Police, there is a special task designed for the troll. I wanted to show it to him that a lot of effort goes into making a show. When he did all the tasks and failed, he understood the situation and was apologetic. I feel people who troll are depressed in life.” The reality show winner also spoke about how he felt knowing that these trolls had no idea about the effect on their words and statements on celebs. “They have no idea about the damage,” says Prince. We also asked him about how he felt about TV couples being trolled. Karan Kundrra had revealed how depressed Anusha Dandekar would be with trolls who wanted him to reunite with ex-girlfriend, Kritika Kamra. On this, Prince opined, “People do not know how happy Anusha and Karan are. Trolls do not know this. I am very happy to be engaged. Our families are. I do not care what trolls think about Yuvika and my relationship. Some have asked me why did I get engaged so early but such statements do not make a difference. They have no jobs in this world. I feel a show like Troll Police is the need of the hour.”

Wine May Be Good For Oral Health, Reveals A Study Sipping wine may be good for your oral health, say scientists who found that certain compounds in the drink can fend of harmful bacteria in the teeth and gums. Traditionally, some health benefits of polyphenols have been attributed to the fact that these compounds are antioxidants, meaning they likely protect the body from harm caused by free radicals. However, recent work indicates polyphenols might also promote health by actively interacting with bacteria in the gut. Plants and fruits produce polyphenols to ward off infection by harmful bacteria and other pathogens. Researchers including M Victoria Moreno-Arribas from Institute of Food Science Research (CIAL) in Spain wanted to know whether wine and grape polyphenols would also protect teeth and gums, and how this could work on a molecular level.
The Study, Published In The Journal Of Agricultural And Food Chemistry, Checked Out The Effect Of Two Red Wine Polyphenols, As Well As Commercially Available Grape Seed And Red Wine Extracts
The study, published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, checked out the effect of two red wine polyphenols, as well as commercially available grape seed and red wine extracts, on bacteria that stick to teeth and gums and cause dental plaque, cavities and periodontal disease. Working with cells that model gum tissue, they found that the two wine polyphenols in isolation - caffeic and p-coumaric acids - were generally better than the total wine extracts at cutting back on the bacteria's ability to stick to the cells. When combined with the Streptococcus dentisani, which is believed to be an oral probiotic, the polyphenols were even better at fending off the pathogenic bacteria. The researchers also showed that metabolites formed when digestion of the polyphenols begins in the mouth might be responsible for some of these effects. February 2018 | Global Movie

FEELING FIT:
SONAKSHI SINHA
On physical transformation “Being part of the film industry means you have to look your best all the time. In the early years of my career, I did several films back to back, and was unable to concentrate on my health and fitness. I had a crazy work schedule. But then, I decided to take it easy and do just one film at a time. That move helped me take some time out for myself and my personal needs – physical as well as mental. I also found time to tick some items off my bucket list – diving and travelling.”
On fitness regime and goals “I did a lot of spinning and weight training. I also played tennis and swam – it was so much fun. My body adapts and reacts quickly, so I switch workouts often. Sometimes I do yoga for a while, and when I feel like I’ve hit a plateau, I switch to a workout in the gym. What about your diet? I eat regular food and don’t follow a particular regime because my body reacts to exercise better. I am a foodie, so I eat whatever I like.”

On wellness “I think wellness has a lot to do with the mind, and not only with the body. It is a combination of good health and happiness.”
On destressing
“Painting helps me destress. For instance, I really want to finish this interview, go back home and splatter paint all over my canvas. It’s funny because I have been sketching ever since I was a kid, but I never painted because I was afraid of using colours. While sketching, you can erase and start afresh, but colours are permanent. I have recently fallen in love with self-portraits and abstracts.”
On how to get more fit
“If I can do it, anyone can! If you want to lose weight, you should do it for the right reasons and not because you saw a skinny model in a magazine. When I was 18, I realised I couldn’t run on a treadmill for more than 40 seconds. That was a wake-up call for me, and I began my journey towards becoming fit. My prime concern, however, was being healthy. I think anything is achievable if you are determined enough. The most important thing is that you should do it the right way and not take any shortcuts.” February 2018 | Global Movie
