Literacy Land engages students with exciting fiction and books that help to introduce foundational literacy concepts. Each lesson prompts students to respond to, and complete activities that will allow them to practice comprehension skills using audio and visual supports as guides. Students will get the opportunity to use the creative tools to showcase their thinking and understanding of the story!
Best Practices
Interactive Read-Aloud: At first exposure, the fiction stories and non-fiction books in Literacy Land are wonderful for an interactive read-aloud as a whole class experience.
Re-read: After that, assign the Introduction to students in Seesaw and have students listen to the audio recording as a re-read.
Motor Skills: In order to help support the development of fine motor skills, students can write and draw in response to the comprehension prompts on paper and upload a picture into Seesaw.
