Movement Mountain models fine and gross motor skills to development. Gross motor skills lessons will get students out of their seats and away from the screen to practice skills like hopping, jumping, and skipping. While fine motor skills lessons allow students to practice skills such as copying a drawing, following a path, and making a ball from play dough!

Best Practices

Connections: Facilitate explicit connections between the fine and gross motor skills students practice in these lessons, and the movements and activities throughout their day that encompass these motor skills.

Interaction: Foster interaction between students, as the Connect modules encourage students to teach someone else how to do certain gross motor skills and movements!

Gradual Release: Introduce new lessons as a whole group to model the motor skills. Practice the gradual release method as students begin to gain confidence and independence.
