Beginning Basket Making Class

The Seguin Art League will offer a Beginning Basket Making Class from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at 104 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Learn to make a coil basket with fabric. This fun and relaxing basket making technique will give you the skills you need to create more. The cost is $30, supplies included. The class is limited to 10. Celebrate Recovery

The Celebrate Recovery ministry at Crossroads Church meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights at 3455 W. Hwy 90 in Seguin. Celebrate recovery is for anyone dealing with anxiety, alcohol, depression, codependency, unforgiveness, self doubt, addiction, grief, eating disorders, relationships, anger, substance abuse, destructive behavior, spending, stress, and more. Co-Ed Youth Volleyball League

The City of Seguin Parks & Recreation Department will offer a Co-Ed Youth Volleyball League for children in the 2nd through 5th grades from Saturday, March 25 through Saturday, May 6. Grades 2nd and 3rd will play from 8 to 9 a.m. and 4th and 5th grades will play from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the volleyball courts near the Seguin Coliseum, located at 950 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus will have a Fish Fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 17 at the Columbus Club, located at 1015 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Plates include fish and three sides for $12 and will be available to go or dine-in.

The Nutty Elks Spring Fling Artisan & Craft Show

The Nutty Elks Spring Fling Artisan & Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Seguin Elks Lodge, located at 1331 CH Matthies Jr. in Seguin. Admission and parking are free. There will be music, food trucks, artisans, crafters, collectibles, and more.

Green Eggs and Ham Event

The Life Changing Church will have its free Annual Green Eggs and Ham Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at 842 E. Pine St. in Seguin. There will be face painting, a cake walk, games, bounce house, sausage and hamburger plates, prizes, and more.

Community Youth Outreach Cookout

The United Women in Faith of Wesley-Harper United Methodist Church will have a Community Youth Outreach Cookout for children and youth, along with a parent or guardian, living in or around the Pradera Housing Complex, from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday March 18 at the Pradera Housing Complex. The event is free and there will be hot dogs and chili dogs with all the trimmings (until they run out), games, goody bags, and free shoes and sandals, while supplies last.

One Stroke Flower Painting Class

The Seguin Art League will have a One Stroke Flower Painting Class from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at 104 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Participants will learn the one stroke technique by painting different types of flowers and leaves. The cost is $35 and supplies are included. The class is limited to 10 adults.

Knights of Columbus Pork Steak Plate Sale

The Knights of Columbus will have a Pork steak Plate Sale from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19 at the Columbus Club, located at 1015 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Plates include pork steak and three sides for $12.

Volunteer Van Drivers Needed

Guadalupe County Veteran Services Office is in great need of volunteer van drivers. Even those who can only commit to one day per month. Volunteers will drive local veterans who have no transportation to their VA medical appointments in San Antonio. To volunteer, call 830-303-4188 ext. 1249.

CCSCT Releases Utility Assistance Application for 2023 Applications are available for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (C.E.A.P.) provided by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs through the CCSCT. The program will help low-income consumers reduce their utility bills. There is also assistance available through the Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). The Seguin Sunrise Lions will have its 4th Annual Springtime Fun Run/Walk beginning with check in at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at Walnut Springs Park, to Park West and back. There will be awards for Top Finisher, Best 4 Team Sponsored Finish, Most Sponsored Participants, and Best Themed Costume. Eggapalooza

Egg Hunt For All Abilities

The Emanuel’s Lutheran Church, Texas Lutheran University, and the Believe It Foundation will have an Eggapalooza Egg Hunt For All Abilities at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. There will be 20,000 eggs to be found and ages 2 to 12 years of age are welcome.

Plant and Bake Sale

The Immaculate Conception Church will have a Plant and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at 212 N. Barnett St. in Marion.
