TX FAME/TSTC Preview Event

The Texas FAME Lone Star Chapter and Texas State Technical College will have a Preview Event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 at the chapter’s FAME Technical Center inside Building A of the Central Texas Technology Center, located at 2189 FM 758 in New Braunfels. Matador Family Bash

The Superintendent Student Advisory Team will host a Matador Family Bash on Thursday, April 13 at Matador Stadium. There will be games/fair from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and a showing of the movie, “RIO,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bring blankets and pillows for comfort on the football field. The concession stand will be open for food purchases.

Celebrate Recovery

The Celebrate Recovery ministry at Crossroads Church meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights at 3455 W. Hwy 90 in Seguin. Celebrate recovery is for anyone dealing with anxiety, alcohol, depression, codependency, unforgiveness, self doubt, addiction, grief, eating disorders, relationships, anger, substance abuse, destructive behavior, spending, stress, and more. Moonlight & Roses

The Seguin Main Street program will have its Moonlight & Roses event at 7 p.m. Friday, April 14 in the Memorial Rose Garden. Picnic baskets for two which includes a charcuterie board with cheese, meat, crackers, pickles/ olives, nuts, fresh berries, and a little sweet treat, 2 wine glasses, and a blanket are available for $75. Zonta Scholarships Deadline

The Zonta Club of Seguin will award two (2) non-traditional memorial scholarships to two Guadalupe County Women who qualify. The deadline for applying is Saturday, April 15. Zonta Rummage Sale

The Zonta Club of Seguin will have a Rummage Sale beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at the National Guard Building, located at 1002 S. Guadalupe St. in Seguin.

Shoot For Scholarship

The Hermann Sons Life Seguin will have its Shoot For Scholarship from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at Moyesway Shooting Sports, located at 12601 FM 20 in Kingsbury. Main Event prices are $100 per youth and $125 per adult. Side Event prices are $50 per youth and $60 per adult. There will also be food trucks on site for breakfast and lunch. Needle Weaving Class

The Seguin Art League will offer a Needle Weaving Class from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at 104 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Learn five easy stitches you can use to make a beautiful wall hanging. All-In For Agricultural Education Fundraiser

There will be an All-in For Agricultural Education Fundraiser at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center (The Big Red Barn) on Saturday, April 15. There will be complimentary beverages and snacks. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Registration is $300 up to the day of the event. The Sweet Home Baptist Church will have its Choir Day at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 16. The guest minister will be Rev. Kevin Nelson of the Calvary Baptist Church of San Antonio.

Summer Strings and Choral Camps Registration

Registration for the July 10 through July 14 Summer Strings and Choral Camps, for grades 2 through 6, runs from Monday, April 17 unit Saturday, July. The camps will be held at the Schuech Fine Arts Center on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. The cost is $125 and discounts are available. Comal Country Music Show

Hispanic Chamber Annual Awards Banquet

The Seguin Guadalupe County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and TAMACC Education Foundation will have its 34th Annual Awards Banquet presentations beginning with a Social Hour at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the Seguin Coliseum. Tickets are $50 and are available by calling 830-372-3151.

Hermann Sons Life Seguin Meeting

The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce will have its Business in the Park 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 in Central Park in Downtown Seguin. There will be food trucks, vendors, and live music.

City of Seguin Spring Clean-up Day

The City of Seguin will have its Spring Clean-up Day from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22 at the Seguin Events Complex (Coliseum) parking lot, located at 950 S. Austin St. in Seguin. A proof of residency is required. Accepted items include: junk disposal, scrap metal, appliances (without Freon), a maximum of 10 automobile tires (no larger than 19.5”). Paper shredding will also be available. Items that will not be accepted include: hazardous material or chemicals, brush/limbs, fences, sheds, construction materials or debris, appliances with Freon, tractor-trailer, mower, bike or ATV tires, and no tires from local businesses. Seguin ISD Community Kite Festival

The Seguin ISD will have its 2nd Annual Community Kite Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Manuel C. Castilla Park, located at 2402 N. Guadalupe St. in Seguin. There will be music, games, vendor booths, community resources, free food or food truck options, arts & craft, kite making, kite flying, and door prizes. Bring your own chairs or blankets for sitting. The event is recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month (May) by the Seguin ISD ACE Program, Student Services, and Whole Child Initiatives.
