Christmas Belles to hit the stage tonight in Seguin

Ashville, North Carolina wrote this play called Christmas Belles and they did a very good job with the comedy I can tell you that. They are Southern characters. They are bigger than life. They get in some unusual situations and of course, everything comes out well in the end but to get to the happy ending is quite a ride," laughs Lucas.

Co-Director Sheila Lucas says the cast and crew have been working non-stop during this already busy season to rehearse for this fun and hilarious holiday favorite -- a favorite that takes the audience into a small Texas town and into the lives of squabbling sisters and an out of control Christmas church program. Lucas says its list of characters become even larger on stage thanks to plenty of hometown talent. "The Futrelle sisters all have their partners and or husbands in the play except for the oldest Futrelle sister who has had many many partners as we find out in her life so she's quite a sparkling character and the casting in this has been so much fun. Pat Hoppe and I are co-directing and we had auditions and the perfect people came out for these roles. We are even dragging Jan Baker back on stage so it's going to be a riot," said Lucas. Among the noted cast members is KWED's own Linda Duncan. Duncan's character, Frankie, is several weeks overdue with her second set of twins. Described as being perhaps the most stable of the three sisters, Duncan recently shared a few lines of her character during the Saturday Topic Program on KWED. See BELLES, page 3
