MIRACULOUS PRAYER Dear Heart of Jesus, in the past I have asked for favors. This time I ask you this very special one (mention favor). Take it dear Jesus and place it within your own broken heart where your father sees it, then in your merciful eyes it will become your favor, not mine. Amen. Say this prayer for 3 days, promise publication and favor will be granted. Never known to fail I.S.G.

Downtown Seguin open Seguin PD seeks tips for entrepreneurs on burglary trio Special by Kyle Kramm, Main Street & CVB director (Seguin) -- One of the great things about downtowns is their unique business mix of mom and pop retailers, restaurants, salons, office, small scale manufacturing and financial institutions. And more importantly are the people you find behind the cash registers and desks that are a part of the team leading the way for a healthy and thriving downtown. That is exactly what downtown is - a team of dedicated individuals working to a common purpose of a fully occupied and revitalized downtown historic district. No where else in the community will you find this team effort of entrepreneurs across all sectors working together, and that is just one advantage of opening your business in downtown Seguin. For those budding entrepreneurs, the Seguin Main Street Program wants to ensure they know about the advantages awaiting them in
downtown Seguin and the perfect brick-and-mortar space is awaiting them. "Downtown Seguin is the heart of the community, full of history and welcoming to entrepreneurs looking to start their own business," said Kyle Kramm, Seguin Main Street & CVB director, "We offer a variety of incentives to downtown businesses and property owners, marketing, free small business training and more for our downtown businesses." There is available space for all types of businesses in downtown Seguin, and spaces available for lease and purchase. A variety of retail spaces of different sizes are available. For example, 106 West Court Street is a small 1000 square foot space perfect for a specialty retailer ready to be leased. A little down the street is a larger space available for purchase or lease at 112 West Court Street. Both these spaces can be adapted to serve a variety of retail businesses.
A big need for downtown is additional restaurants and Main Street is excited to work with any experienced restaurateur looking to open their next kitchen. Two leasable spaces in downtown have existing commercial kitchens; they are 110 East Court Street set up for a nice casual dining restaurant and the first floor of the Park Plaza Hotel waiting for a fine dining establishment. Office professionals are also welcomed in downtown Seguin. Single offices are available in the Aumont and the Blumberg building. Whole office suites are also available in Seguin's historic post office on Camp Street and on the second floor at 113 South Camp Street. If you are interested in opening a business in downtown Seguin, contact Seguin Main Street at (830) 401-2448 for information on downtown, contact information for available properties and more.

DEA Will Expand Marijuana Research Program (Washington, DC) -- The DEA plans to expand scientific and medical research of marijuana. It's a sign that opposition to marijuana may be wavering within the federal government. A growing number of states have legalized marijuana use. In a statement, the DEA said the long-delayed research could eventually lead to "safe and effective drug products that may be approved for marketing" by the FDA.
Judge Rules Johnson & Johnson to Pay $572 Million to State of Oklahoma (Norman, OK) -- A judge is ruling that Johnson and Johnson must pay 572-million-dollars to the state of Oklahoma for misleading marketing for opioids. Judge Thad Balkman said in court that the pharmaceutical company "created a nuisance" and the state has "met its burden." Balkman added that the nation's opioid crisis is an "imminent danger and menace" to Oklahomans. Johnson and
Johnson was the only defendant in the seven-week trial, which began on May 28th. Purdue Pharma and Teva Pharmaceutical each reached a settlement with the Oklahoma attorney general's office before the trial began. The lawsuit claimed the practice contributed to six-thousand deaths in two years and has cost the state as much as 17-and-a-half-billion-dollars. The state has said it wants to use the money for addiction treatment and prevention programs.
Russian Agency Says Radioactive Isotopes Found After Nuke Explosion (Undated) -- Russian officials are admitting that radioactive gases were found in samples after a mysterious explosion at a military test site earlier this month. But those officials say there's no danger in the area in Russia's far north. The gases contained radioactive isotopes. The explosion August 8th killed at least five government nuclear scientists and caused a brief spike in radiation. The Russian state weather and environmental monitoring agency said today that no trace of radioactive gases has been detected in the area since August 8th.
