Welcome to Melrose Park
I’m pleased to share the latest updates on Melrose Park, our vibrant urban renewal community that embodies Sekisui House’s vision for sustainable, innovative and connected living. With over 1,300 residents already calling Melrose Park home and more than 650 apartments completed, this thriving community continues to grow.
We’ve made significant progress in delivering key infrastructure for future stages. Bulk earthworks and major infrastructure works are well underway. The site for the new high school has been finalised for dedication to the NSW Government, and our new Display Centre, opening in May 2025 is currently under construction. Recently, we also opened new display apartments in Melrose Park Village, giving buyers a glimpse of what life here has to offer.
Melrose Park will feature Sydney’s largest new urban park with high-quality outdoor spaces becoming increasingly important as more people embrace apartment living. Residents will enjoy an array of green spaces including Central Park, Western Parklands and private landscaped areas for each building. Construction on Central Park is set to begin early next year, marking an exciting milestone for the community.
Our current release, Melrose Park Village (Stage 4) is a testament to thoughtful design and modern living. With 421 apartments, the stage includes standout amenities like a wellness centre, pet washing bays, a work-fromhome studio, and an activities room. The lush internal courtyard offers a tranquil retreat of approximately 4,000m², exclusive to residents. With 93% of Melrose Park Village now sold, these features clearly resonate with buyers.
We’ve also reached a major milestone, topping out the concrete construction for all six buildings in Melrose Park Village. Our focus has now shifted to internal works and fit-out, and we remain on track for settlement in Q3 2025. Upcoming progress will include removing scaffolding, completing landscaping, installing signage and finishing building services.
Construction of the Melrose Park Town Centre has also commenced, and further road improvements including intersection upgrades are set to be completed in the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for Melrose Park. We are building a community that is designed for today and generations to come.
Kind regards,
Alex Grujovski Project Director, Melrose Park
A place to call home
Esther shares her thoughts. “As a tour guide, I’ve always valued a home that offers both convenience and comfort. Living in my twobedroom apartment in Stage 3 of Melrose Park for the past year and a half has been a great experience. Sekisui House’s reputation as a trusted and well-known developer gave me confidence in my decision and the location close to the city with great capital growth potential made it even better.
One of the standout features is the free transport service Sekisui House provides to Meadowbank train station and ferry stop. I also appreciate the community’s thoughtful design. The green open spaces make me feel safe, relaxed and comfortable. Whether it is walking my Cavoodle 'Serine' around the local parks or hosting a barbecue with friends at the communal facilities, there’s always something to enjoy.
My son recently bought a bike and loves riding from Melrose Park to Meadowbank along the beautiful cycleways with Serine often joining him. The communal solar roofing system has also been a bonus, helping to reduce our electricity bills."
Central Park vision is coming to life
Tim Conybeare, Studio Director at ASPECT Studio says "Central Park will be the heart of the Melrose Park community, designed as a place for people, with a rich tapestry of gardens, open grassed areas and shady promenades. Every detail has been considered to create a space that invites connection and relaxation. It will be a place to explore, gather, play in and breathe."
Key recreational spaces within the park include a main playground with a river mangrove theme, open lawns for picnicking and games and a multipurpose plaza ideal for markets and pop-up events. "We have also integrated a lookout with immersive sandstone escarpment plantings and a network of pathways linking to the broader precinct," Tim adds.
The park is divided into three main parts: the upper terrace for quiet reflection and small gatherings, the central lawns and play space for families and larger gatherings, and the plaza for structured community events.
Aesthetic and environmental appeal of the park stems from thoughtful choices in materials and plantings. "We have selected a warm palette of materials that are elegant, timeless and connected to the Parramatta River. The planting palette enhances the park’s microclimates with texture, form and colour. These gardens will attract an abundance of birdlife and support biodiversity," Tim explains.
Tim also highlights the unique elements of the design. "The upper terrace lookout provides exceptional views over the park and towards the town centre, while the children’s play areas are multigenerational, encouraging repeat visits. The north-south promenade is another standout, offering a tree-lined connection to the town centre and adjacent residences."
The park’s completion is anticipated mid2026 with features opening in phases.
A commitment to health and wellbeing
Melrose Park’s recent enrolment into the WELL for Residential program marks a significant milestone in residential development, being the first project in Australia to do so. It is a certification standard administered by the International WELL Building Institute for integrating healthy design principles to enhance occupant well-being.
Ken Fong, National Lead for Human-Centred Design at E-LAB Consulting states, "WELL Certification is about creating spaces that genuinely enhance the health and lifestyle of residents. It is a testament to thoughtful, evidence-based design.
Key features include cycling infrastructure, materials improving indoor air quality, noise-reducing design and optimised natural light. “Every element is intentional, contributing to a higher standard of liveability."
Residents benefit from healthier environments, workfrom-home-friendly spaces and features like nature views to boost mental health. Accessibility and multi-generational living were also prioritised.
“WELL for Residential Certification isn’t just about the present, it is about future-proofing developments. This certification aligns with Sekisui House’s vision and highlights leadership in health-focused urban design. We are proving health and well-being can be central to design without compromising affordability," Ken concludes.
