Grade 2 | Promises
By Miss Laura
This year, Grade 2 is learning all about God’s promises in Biblical Studies class. We have learned that some of God’s promises are for everyone and that others are only for certain people. The students discussed the meaning of a promise and various reasons why a person might break a promise. Those reasons included that a person might not know that something will prevent them from keeping their promise, they change their mind, they forget, they aren’t strong enough, or they lie. We used our prior knowledge and inquiry skills to think about God’s character and looked at verses from the Bible to see if He might have any of the same problems as us. One of the verses we looked at was Numbers 23:19: “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”

We were able to see that God always, always, always keeps His promises. Since God is so great, He has the ability to keep His promises. Since God is so good, He always will keep His promises!
