Message From The Head of School

Dear Parents,

It has been wonderful to have students back on campus. The energy boost this has provided our teachers cannot be underestimated. We continue to open up grade by grade to allow safe and healthy protocols to be established across the school. I am proud of how responsibly our on-site students have conducted themselves in following the new expectations - a reflection of good training and practices at home, I’m sure. Please continue to keep an eye out for information from the school about when your child’s grade will be returning.

This week is Book Week. Each year SPH PV spends an entire week focusing on reading which is such a fundamentally important skill for all people of all ages. We want to celebrate books and the important role they play in our lives. We want to encourage our students to read for enjoyment. Being a highly skilled reader also positively impacts learning in so many ways! I look forward to seeing everyone at the Book Week Assembly dressed as their favourite book character on Friday (yes, I will be dressed up too!).

I trust your conference time meeting with teachers was profitable. We really do desire to partner with you in the education of your child. Please remember you can always make another time to meet with a teacher if you have further questions or concerns so we can plan together how to best meet the learning needs of your child.

Last week, I was able to join a number of teachers as panelists for the Grade 7

Endangered Species presentations. What polished and accomplished middle school students we have in our school! Students not only researched about their chosen animal, but also presented a plan on how they could be saved from extinction. Congratulations to the winning groups and a great job by Ms Hannah and Ms Lydia in preparing their students so well.

Happy Reading!

Mr. Tim Heading
