Dear Friends & Colleagues, I know that many of you have been forced to leave their normal daily lives behind and bid goodbye - at least for the time being - to their commonly rather hectic but oh so cherished routine. Many of our colleagues had to close their restaurants and hotels and now look into the future with great uncertainty and fear.

In these times of global Covid-19 hysteria, empathy and energetic support is called for. So, here’s what we have in mind: We actually had planned a Food & Wine Festival in Marbella and Malaga, Spain and of course had to cancel it due to the prevailing pandemic situation. So we came up with proposal originating out of defiance and the fact that life must and will go on anyway: Let's just metamorphose it into the First Global Virtual Culinary Festival, a Food&Wine Extravaganza - A Friendly Battle of Giants in Defiance of these gloomy times! The basic idea is quite simple: The creation of an exclusive circle of top chefs, & sommeliers, who work either in hotels of our members, or independent colleagues with a desire to collaborate on monthly menus with wine accompaniment to be then published by us in our LookBooks - see the attached sample - and presented to a jury at the end of the year to choose the winner! All that is needed are dedicated colleagues who provide us with their menu & wine ideas and pictures of their compositions including the corresponding explanations and all the other work will be done by our devoted team! Within the next few days we will invite our members - selected top chefs, sommeliers & hoteliers - with our preliminary concept and ask them for their active cooperation. This is just a heads up and additional ideas are more than welcome - I look much forward to your support! and send you warm regards

Dear Colleagues and Friends, On behalf of myself, the HoteliersGuild and our team of partners and contributors – our thoughts are with you, your loved ones, your staff and our collaborators around the world. These are indeed challenging times and we will do everything we can to support our brilliant and extraordinary private society. Admittedly, we are all under extreme stress closing down operations, caught in partially locked-down in different countries and cancelling long and painstakingly planned events. But especially in those testing times one sometimes needs a little distance from everyday life and seek inspiration for the future. We decided not to admit defeat and continue to provide our members and colleagues with supporting initiatives like the ForumOfDialogue with white papers, essays and discussions from our international industry leaders. Rest assured that we remain committed to doing everything we can to support our community! I’m especially thrilled that our Virtual Culinary Extravaganza concept is taking shape & look much forward to release some really exciting news next week! In our quest to continue to showcase the exceptional, and to offer some kind of escape, we came up with a concept to stage the first VIRTUAL CULINARY EXTRAVAGANZA, a truly global event with some of the finest and highly decorated Chefs and Sommeliers. Today, I am delighted to inform you that we have reached an agreement for a strategic alliance with Flavel Monteiro, author/publisher of the award winning of https://wgmagazines.com! HoteliersGuild and WG share the same philosophy and we believe that this testing time of Covid19 that affects us all, is an urgent and defining moment. Therefor, we decided to act now, and to create with this event a place where we can bring colleagues from around the world together to share expertise and plan for a better tomorrow. Readership of our member magazine, HoteliersGuild’s LookBook, has increased steadily over the past years, and the recent addition of our Forum Of Dialogue was so well received by you. Now, together with WG we will be able to reach out to well above 100.000 followers. The pure picture-book fashion of WG’s stylish, digital magazine, has captured the heart of those seeking opulence and quality in over 42 countries, and the attached bio of Flavel and his achievements speaks for itself!
