HoteliersGuild's SIRIUS auction raises funds for underprivileged female students from African countries The HoteliersGuild Association is hosting this year's Sirius Academy Scholarship Award Auction to provide funds to award scholarships to needy, underprivileged female students from Africa. 30 scholarships have already been secured through a generous donation from Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO Preferred Hotels & Resorts, who is also cofounder of the HoteliersGuild LeadingHôtelières Chapter. The proceeds of the auction are earmarked for additional scholarships. The students will thus be given the opportunity to study at Germany's largest university, IU International University of Applied Sciences, with an internationally recognised Bachelor's or Master's degree. To this end, HoteliersGuild has entered into a strategic alliance with the Study Access Alliance in Munich, whose academic partner IU offers the degree programmes for the next generation of promising hospitality leaders. All prizes are donations from HoteliersGuild members. Up for bid are safaris, a ski holiday in Austria, and stays in dream destinations such as Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Provence, the Maldives and Mauritius, as well as Michelin-starred dinners at attractive minimum bids that are 50% below normal rates. There are also luxury hotel stays in major cities around the world on offer. HoteliersGuild also announces strategic collaboration with Study Access Alliance in Munich and IU International University of Applied Sciences to generate additional opportunities for the next generation of promising hospitality leaders. Frank M. Pfaller, founder and president of HoteliersGuild, says: "We are excited to collaborate with Study Alliance and IU International University of Applied Sciences as their mission aligns with our mission fundamental vision for education, sustainable luxury and inclusion in the hospitality industry. We are confident that by combining our international expertise, we are in a strong position to promote gender equality awareness, access to education for underprivileged students from developing countries and sustainable development practices in our industry." "Thanks to our cooperation with HoteliersGuild, we are able to provide full scholarships for talents in Africa to study Hospitality Management at IU International University of Applied Sciences." adds a delighted Luise Wittmann, Senior Project Manager, Study Access Alliance. "What a privilege to democratise education and make the dreams of African students come true, to whom we can offer full university scholarships for Hospitality Management thanks to the NGO's working with IU. " says Prof.Dr. David Rempel, Academic Director, IU Nuremberg Campus, for African Partnerships, Global Mentoring and liaison with Study Access Alliance.
