SENECA NIAGARA CASINO & HOTEL WELCOMES ICONIC BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES ON MAY 25 NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The world-famous “gentle giants” will make an appearance in Niagara Falls this Memorial Day weekend. The eight Budweiser® Clydesdales, complete with a hitch, carriage and Dalmatian dog, will be available for public viewing and photos outside Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 25. Prime opportunities for viewing will take place around Seneca Square, the recently relandscaped area between 3rd and 4th Streets in front of the casino to the west. The horses will arrive on Duggan Drive, the north side of Seneca Square. According to the Budweiser Clydesdales website, the Clydesdales first made an appearance in 1933 and “heralded a new era of prosperity for Anheuser-Busch.” They are “the living embodiment of America’s great industrial spirit” and a perennial fan-favorite among Super Bowl television ads. To qualify for one of the traveling hitches, each member of the team must stand at least 72 inches at the shoulder when fully mature, weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds, have a reddish brown (bay) coat, four white legs, a white blaze, and a black mane and tail. The Clydesdales’ appearance at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel marks the final stop during their visit to the Buffalo Niagara Region, part of a month-long East Coast tour that included activities in Toronto and London, Ont. The famed horses will be in the area beginning May 21, with private visits to an area children’s hospital and military base – but the opportunity at Seneca Niagara will be free and open to the public.
