SENECA HICKORY STICK GOLF COURSE NAMED TO GOLFWEEK’S ‘CASINO TOP 40 GOLF COURSES’ LEWISTON, N.Y. – A second full golf season is in the books for Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course, and new honors have rolled in. In Golfweek magazine’s just-released December 2012 issue, the Lewiston, N.Y. course is listed as No. 25 among the “Casino Top 40 Golf Courses” in the U.S. Golfweek is considered one of the gold-standard publications in the golf industry. Seneca Hickory Stick is one of the newest courses listed among Golfweek’s top 40 casino courses. The $25 million course, designed by world-renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones II and owned by Seneca Gaming Corporation, first opened on July 2, 2010, and is located just minutes away from Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. “Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course has become a leading destination in Western New York and Southern Ontario for golfers of all skill levels,” said Cathy Walker, president and CEO, Seneca Gaming Corporation. “A great golf experience at Hickory Stick is another reason for guests to stay at our nearby Four Diamond Award–winning Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.” “Whether it’s the unique double-green at [holes] 9 and 18 near the clubhouse, or the tall grass areas around the bunkers, players know that there’s a challenge at every turn on our course,” said Fran Roach, general manager, Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course. “We’re a perfect complement to Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, where even the most discerning players can always find new experiences at both locations – and always delivered with outstanding service.” This is the third major honor in two years from industry publications. After its 2010 opening, Golf Magazine named Seneca Hickory Stick the No. 6 “Best New Golf Course” in the U.S., and Golfweek included the course on its 2012 list of “Best Casino Courses” after its first full season of play.
