BRIGHT LIGHTS. BIG SCREENS. Dazzling 4K displays. Be the first to experience the cutting edge in brand new slot technology on Seneca Resorts & Casino’s gaming floors.

“We love to let our players be the first in the whole area to get a chance to try out exciting new games locally,” says Beverly Price, Corporate Director of Slot Technical Ops. Thanks to longstanding relationships with leading slot machine vendors, Seneca Casino properties can do just that — often being first to market with the latest and greatest in slot gaming technology. “Our vendors offer us first access to these products because it gives them the opportunity to get feedback from players,” Price explains. “As a large property, we have a unique opportunity to help vendors get their products out and more visible, and we can offer them more exposure on the machines they want to promote.” The 2,800 slot machines at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino include all of the classic favorites that guests love — in addition to new products that are constantly popping up to keep things fresh and exciting. Machines like the Tim McGraw wide area progressive by Aristocrat and the Konami KX 43 are prime examples of exclusive rollouts that come to Seneca first. It’s just another aspect of Seneca’s dedication to upgrading slot product offerings and maximizing availability to get the best products in the market, as quickly as possible. For some guests, the sheer excitement of having the first opportunity to experience something new is a prize in and of itself. “It’s like a brand new iPhone…everyone likes to try it first and talk about it to friends,” Price explains. “It’s fun to do a little bragging — especially when you win.”

With Two Table Games Tournaments This Summer By Charlotte Nauert Photograph by Adrian Tiemens

It’s twice as hot this summer at Seneca Niagara

Resort & Casino with two table games tournaments cranking up the intensity. “It’s a completely different experience than normal table play,” says Vice President of Table Games Michael Mitten. “It’s a party atmosphere — complete with a DJ calling out the action for spectators to hear.” First, things are heating up in June with the Golden Arm Craps Tournament, held weekly from the 2nd to the 28th. Guests will earn tournament points based on the number of times they roll the dice as the shooter during one turn. Weekly winners with the highest scores will be announced Fridays at 8 p.m., with overall tournament champions announced Friday, June 28. The top three scores of the week will receive a $500 free bet, $300 free bet and $200 free bet

respectively. Final prizes are cash — with $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000 going to the top three shooters. The heat wave rolls into August with the Head to Head Weekly Blackjack Tournament running until October 2nd. Every Wednesday from August 7 to September 25, guests can register on a first-come, first-served basis to compete for the top three scores each week. Weekly prizes are $1,000 cash for first place, a $500 free bet for second and a $250 free bet for third. Finalists will go head to head Wednesday, October 2, for top prizes including $2,500, $1,000 and $500 — all cash. And it’s not just about the money: “Players love the extra bragging rights,” Mitten adds. To participate, guests must be members of the Social Club and 21 years of age or older. For full promotional details, visit the Social Club or table games area and ask for more information.

Tournament of Champions SLOT PLAYERS BATTLE IT OUT FOR $200,000 IN PRIZES By Charlotte Nauert Photograph by Adrian Tiemens

T

THIS SUMMER, $200,000 must go in the Social Club Slot Tournament — don’t miss out on your share.

And because this tournament spans all three Seneca Resorts & Casinos properties, the possibilities are tripled. We’ve maximized the opportunities to win with hourly and session winners daily, plus a can’t-miss finale to bring it all home. On Wednesdays and Fridays in June and July, from 4 to 8 p.m., Social Club members can enter the slot tournament for free and receive a buy-one-get-one-free drink coupon. Session winners receive a t-shirt, and top 20 scores each day receive $50 free slot play, as well as entry into the finale. The top hourly score also gets $100 free slot play. “Guests can go to each property and even play at all three in one day if they wish,” says Mimi Williams, Executive Director of Marketing and Sales. “Guests could even win at each property!” In addition, there will be bonus Wild Card Hot Seat drawings with opportunities to win automatic entry into the finale on Saturday, July 27, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. All finale participants will play a two-minute session to compete for a spot as a Top 10 finalist — battling it out for the $10,000 cash grand prize. Second and third places take home $2,500 and $1,500 cash respectively. Remaining Top 10 finalists receive $500 free slot play. The tournament is free to enter for Social Club members. Join in the exciting atmosphere and duke it out for top prizes as you enjoy the interactive slot machines, frantically tapping away at the touch screen to pop balloons and earn extra points. To participate, players simply need to have a Social Club card. Inquire with valid photo ID at any Seneca Resort & Casino for more information.

THE LOBBY BAR IS THE NEXT GREAT ESCAPE By Kat Corona-Pilgrim Photograph by Adrian Tiemens

SUMMER 2019 INSIDE SENECA

D

DAZZLING AND CAPTIVATING DESIGN fused with contemporary art greets guests as they enter Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. As part of the new and exciting “Arrival Experience”, The Lobby Bar has been rebuilt from scratch to offer guests and visitors an upscale experience of exclusive wine selections, signature cocktails and fine bite-sized cuisine. Dennis Kahn, Vice President of Food and Beverage, explains: “We wanted to create an escape for anyone looking to unwind” — and that’s just what the newly imagined space achieves. Located directly off of the main entrance, The Lobby Bar offers hotel guests and local visitors alike a posh getaway that’s easily accessible and slightly removed from the bustle of the casino. Dine on Point Reye Blue Cheese with Honeycomb and Crostinis, or sip on one of the 22 elite wine selections available by the glass. “I spent 13 years cultivating personal relationships with west coast vineyards, and as a result The Lobby Bar offers wine variations that constantly change with the seasons and can only be found at this location,” Kahn says. Cocktails such as the Luxardo Manhattan and the bourbon-infused Oak & Smoke offer a classic twist when set against other dynamic blends — such as the Prickly Pear Daiquiri and most popular Blood Orange Margarita. Bringing an extra contemporary flare is the ability to browse drinks and view their mixology from the convenience of an iPad as part of the ordering process. Guests can get lost in their favorite game, airing on the largescale TV above the bar, or simply relax and be mesmerized by the golden hues and alluring new lighting.

THE SUMMER REFRESHER Aperol Spritzer

Be sure to try this crowd-favorite cocktail, containing Aperol, orange juice, Ketel One peach and orange vodka, and champagne. Garnished with an orange peel and served in a champagne glass, it’s truly a delight.

And while a modern approach was the focus of the redesign, the combination of the eight finest, local craft breweries highlighted on the menu and the inviting, professional staff gives it just the right amount of hometown touch and originality. Drop by The Lobby Bar at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino – and discover your next great escape.

A DAY OF PAMPERING MAKES FOR THE PERFECT BACHELORETTE PARTY INDULGENCE By Charlotte Nauert Photograph byJeff Barnes

Bachelorette parties are all about unwinding before the big day and bonding between best friends — The Spa & Salon at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino provides the ideal escape for both.

As an oasis of relaxation and luxury, the Spa is the perfect spot, for a little break from the gaming floor action, or for a big life event like a bachelorette party. Even the most overwhelmed bride can unplug and de-stress in the extravagant, tranquil ambiance of the Spa, complete with all of the services and amenities she needs to bliss out and glow up. A Spa favorite, the Signature Soy Candle Manicure and Pedicure is ideally suited to a group experience — and an indulgence for all the senses. Full of aromatic scents and soothing steps, it’s a great way to treat the bride to some much-needed rest and rejuvenation. Newer services such as Lash Lifting or Keratin Smoothing also ensure everyone looks and feels their best before the big day. 22

SUMMER 2019 INSIDE SENECA

But the bachelorette bliss doesn’t have to stop there. “With any service at the Spa, guests have access to all of our amenities for the whole day,” says Spa and Salon Manager Lisa Gebbia. The private locker rooms include a Whirlpool, steam room and dry sauna. “We also have a fitness facility, which is always a plus. It’s all about having it all in one place.” Start planning the perfect bachelorette spa day with a scheduled appointment to tour the facilities and speak with an experienced event planner. “There are a lot of details to these parties and we want to make every special event one to remember,” says Gebbia. Working with an event planner allows guests to customize the day with the perfect cocktail of treatments, services and time to sit and savor the amenities. “We also have a private lounge and the ability to create a menu to be delivered up to your event,” Gebbia adds, so the bachelorette fun never has to end. It’s the perfect dose of pre-wedding bliss — and no one deserves it more than the bride-to-be.

A GREENER STAY

Seneca Resorts Reward Guests for Making the Eco-friendly Choice YOU’VE JUST STEPPED out of your oversized shower, feeling pampered and rejuvenated by Seneca Resort’s upscale amenities. As you dry off, you’re smiling and looking forward to a relaxing night of play – a true escape in every sense of the word. In fact, the hardest choice you’ll face all day is deciding what to do now with your wet towel: hang it, or leave it to be replaced by housekeeping? The small act of declining daily towel service can have a big impact. According to the American Hotel and Lodging Association, a typical 300-room hotel can reduce its water usage by 51,840 gallons yearly with a towel and linen reuse program. At Seneca, we’re taking those impressive dividends to the next level by offering monetary rewards to all of our guests for making the environmentally responsible choice. By simply electing not to have your towels and sheets laundered, you’ll receive credits for free slot play — which could pay out to even bigger returns.

It’s called the Green for Green Program, a popular environmental initiative offered at Seneca Niagara and Seneca Allegany Resorts & Casinos. Here’s how it works: For every service day you waive (you must book at least two days), you’ll be eligible to receive $10 free slot play for up to five nights, or a total of $40. “Green for Green is a fantastic program that’s really a win-win,” says Joanne Israel, Lead Champion and Assistant General Manager. “It minimizes our environmental impact and celebrates our guests for participating – we couldn’t go wrong.” Since its implementation, Green for Green has saved more than five thousand housekeeping labor hours and generated substantial water and energy savings. It’s just another way Seneca is honoring an age-old commitment to the environment while also rewarding guests. To participate in Green for Green, inquire at the hotel front desk. It’s a bonus just for you – and our environment.

THERE’S ARTISTRY to be found in every thoughtful detail at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino — from the hand-crafted pastries to the elegant design of the gaming floor. But the most meaningful display of artisanship by far comes in a special showcase of Native talent.

At any given time, Seneca Allegany is home to 15 to 20 rotating pieces from the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum. These pieces are spotlighted at the entrance, in the hotel lobby, between the escalators that bridge the Buffet and Gaming floor, and also in a display case by the Bear Claw Café Bus Lobby entrance. These pieces are selected and designated by the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum, in conjunction with Collections Manager Johnna Crouse, and Operations Manager Hayden Haynes. As of press time, this impressive rotating display includes traditional elk and deer antler carvings, historical moccasin beading, and Iroquois tribal pin cases from the 1940s and older. 26

SUMMER 2019 INSIDE SENECA

Thoughtful plaques alongside these showcases provide further insight into the artist and Native traditions behind each beautiful work of art. In the current displays, guests can disappear into the Iroquois Creation story, learn the special significance of strawberries, and discover why the eagle is considered the most powerful bird in Iroquois tradition. “Guests are also encouraged to visit the Onöhsagwë:de’ Cultural Center by way of a free shuttle bus during business hours,” says Chama Hall, Director of Hotel Operations. To take advantage of this unique opportunity, inquire at the bell desk and prepare for an immersive experience of Native American history and culture at the nearby Seneca-Iroquois National Museum now housed within the cultural center. It’s just another way Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino provides an artful escape — out of the ordinary, and into some of the most extraordinary Native art throughout time.

PETER FRAMPTON’S FAREWELL TOUR Don’t Miss the Rock Icon at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino JUNE 29

By Kat Corona-Pilgrim Photographs by Austin Lord

28

SUMMER 2019 INSIDE SENECA

After a half-century-long career, Peter Frampton is ready to shake things up. Be one of the lucky fans to see this singer-songwriter, rock legend on June 29 as he lights up the stage under the night sky and takes a final bow.

A

Frampton first came to fame at age 16 as the lead guitarist and singer for The Herd, a British pop rock band. Named “The Face of 1968” by teen magazine Rave, Frampton continued to dominate the music scene when two years later he co-founded seminal rock band Humble Pie. However, it wasn’t until he went solo that Frampton evolved as a musician and went on to collaborate with David Bowie (a childhood friend), George Harrison, Ringo Starr and some of the most renowned performers of all time. This farewell tour will give rock fans a chance to sing along to classics from one of the bestselling live albums of all time, “Frampton Comes Alive!” The 1976 album put Frampton at the front of the rock scene, selling more than eight million copies and featuring hit singles like “Show Me the Way,” “Do You Feel Like We Do” and “Baby, I Love Your Way.” For those looking for an extra incentive to let loose under the moonlight, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening is scheduled to open up the show. High-energy guitar riffs, feel-good vibes and a starry rooftop are guaranteed. Signing off at the top of his game, Frampton knows this is the right time for him to walk away from live performances. Recently diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis — a progressive muscle disorder — Frampton is giving this farewell tour everything he’s got. “It’s my passion; I’ve been playing guitar for 60 years. Started when I was eight and now I’m 68. So, I’ve had a very good run,” Frampton said in a recent interview on CBS “This Morning: Saturday.” Looking to jam to a specific song during the show? Frampton’s taking requests on Twitter via his handle, @peterframpton. Don’t miss your last chance to see this remarkable guitarist perform live on June 29, when classic rock takes over the outdoor stage at Seneca Allegany.

Rock Out & Do Some Good $1 of every ticket sold will benefit the Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund at Johns Hopkins, a newly established fund that supports research to improve the lives of patients living with myositis — and to ultimately find a cure.

Angel of Magic CRISS ANGEL WILL BLOW YOUR MIND IN PERFORMANCES AT SENECA RESORTS & CASINOS By Charlotte Nauert

WHEN MAGICIAN AND ILLUSIONIST CRISS ANGEL GRACES THE STAGE AT SENECA RESORTS & CASINOS, GUESTS CAN EXPECT ONE THING: THE UNEXPECTED. “I love seeing the reactions on the faces of the audience when their minds are blown,” says Angel. “When they witness an experience live that they’ve never [seen before], or believed wasn’t possible.” In more than two decades of performing, it’s a reaction Angel has grown accustomed to — but it never fails to delight him. Gaining international acclaim, Angel has been named Magician of the Decade in 2009 and Magician of the Century in 2010 by the International Magicians Society, and holds multiple world records. He also has the unique distinction of having been on primetime television for more hours than any other magician in history, between his television series and wildly popular specials on cable and network television. But no level of achievement can satisfy a master illusionist of Angel’s caliber, and so he’s embarked on a new tour, bringing his “magic revolution” up close and personal in Criss Angel RAW – The Mindfreak Unplugged. “I’m performing the best of my close demonstrations that you’ve seen on my TV shows, as well as some of my most famous signature illusions,” Angel says. “You won’t believe your eyes.” This unique theatrical experience is unlike any seen before; bringing Angel’s famous sleight of hand street magic, mentalism and iconic illusions to life — all performed in an intimate, raw setting. This extraordinary evening of magic unplugged features Angel with a stripped-down purity that’s in-your-face and guaranteed to take your breath away. Especially exciting for Angel, his show at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on June 8 will signify his return to the Empire State — where he was born and first began his career in magic. “[Returning to New York] means everything. My dream was to tour and perform in the state I grew up in, and it’s very exciting for me to be able to bring the magic revolution to New York audiences,” Angel states. “I’m very much looking forward to having an amazing experience — and having fun doing what I do — with the great people in Niagara Falls.” Angel will also perform at the Seneca Allegany Events Center on September 14. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the greatest magician of our modern era — before he disappears. For tickets, visit senecaniagaracasino.com or senecaalleganycasino.com.

Buffalo’s harbor was once the dark side of town where truckers went to refuel, grain scoopers grabbed a beer and street racers

burned rubber on an empty stretch of highway. Fences topped with barbed wire kept the curious away from the water and industrial debris littered empty lots. Today, the fences have come down, those lots have become parks and a bike path links the inner and outer harbors. While the occasional lake freighter still makes its way to Buffalo’s harbor, the waterfront is now home to kayakers, paddle boarders, boaters, bikers and hikers – the site of a radical transformation into an in-demand destination. Here are some of the top spots to enjoy along the city’s shores: CANALSIDE: You can rent a kayak, paddle board and water bike at Canalside or take a yoga class and get your Zen on in a Buffalo sunset chair. TIMES BEACH NATURE PRESERVE: You’ll find tranquility along the trails and boardwalks of this natural habitat within sight of downtown Buffalo. SAFE HARBOR MARINA: Hire a charter boat captain and get a taste of some of the best bass fishing in North America. Buffalo is an angler’s dream come true. SILO CITY: Take an Explore Buffalo vertical tour of one of the towering grain elevators or rent a kayak from the Silo City Paddling Co. Finish your workout with a cold one at Duende. TIFFT NATURE PRESERVE: Miles of hiking trails, viewing platforms and secluded overlooks make this Buffalo’s nearest faraway place. WILKESON POINTE: Rent a Reddy Bike and do the Outer Harbor bike path. Along the way

stop and grab a shot of the Wilkeson Pointe wind sculptures. Your Instagram followers will thank you.

CANALSIDE

BUFFALO RIVERWORKS: Where can you zipline between grain elevators? Only in Buffalo, at RiverWorks, a former industrial site that has been reborn as a year-round urban playground. BUFFALO HARBOR STATE PARK: The kids will love the park’s state-of-the-art playground. Mom and Dad will enjoy a stroll on the nearby boardwalk. MUTUAL RIVERFRONT PARK: Get out on the Buffalo River on an Elevator Alley Kayak tour. Then head over to Gene McCarthy’s beer garden where Old Buffalo meets New. NEW IN 2019: The massive Flat Man sculpture presides over a 20-acre waterfront parcel near the Bell Slip that will be home to mountain bike dirt paths, a paved pump track and skills loop.

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF THE SENECA POW WOW By Maurice John Jr. Photographs courtesy of the Seneca Media & Communications Center

E

EACH SUMMER, the Seneca Nation plays host to one of the largest pow wows in the northeast. The Marvin “Joe” Curry Veterans Pow Wow, as it is known today, takes place on the Allegany Territory in Salamanca, NY, annually on the third weekend of July. The cultural extravaganza has grown into a national event featuring song, dance, food and art from across the country.

While no one can say with certainty when and where the first pow wows originated, Native peoples have always gathered together in celebration and ceremony with song and dance. It wasn’t until the 1980s that contemporary pow wows established themselves as cultural beacons on a national scale. With many indigenous peoples reclaiming their identity and developing stronger economies, pow wows moved from localized gatherings to large-scale public events. Showcasing traditional song and dance from across Indian Country, these events grew to become full scale destination festivals, complete with cultural foods and contemporary native arts and crafts. With pow wows such as the Gathering of Nations (Albuquerque, NM), Denver March Powwow (Denver, CO), and Red Earth Festival (Oklahoma City, OK) leading the way, by the 1990s, Native nations across the U.S. began to follow suit. The first Seneca pow wow began as a one-day community event in the spring of 1989. After a successful turnout, the first annual “Keeper of the Western Door Pow Wow” was held at Veteran’s Park in Salamanca, NY, in the summer of 1989. “We just started from there,” says founding member and Director of Seneca Nation Archives, Rebecca Bowen. “We tried to bring in people from the west because pow wows were more well-known…to help us establish a pow wow culture.” With time and experience, soon the Seneca pow wow began to grow and develop a positive reputation. “After 10 years we were building a certain level of respect,” states Bowen. “We also began to build up the arts. We worked to bring in really high quality artists from out west.” By now, the Seneca pow wow had become a major stop on the “pow wow trail” for many in the northeast.

36

SUMMER 2019 INSIDE SENECA

Throughout its history, the pow wow has seen several variations, including events hosted at both the Seneca Allegany and Seneca Niagara properties, the Cattaraugus Territory and even one at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY, in 1992. The pow wow has since returned to its original home in Veteran’s Park in Salamanca, NY, and now annually honors its local Iroquois Post #1587. In 2014, the organizing pow wow committee decided to change its name to the Marvin “Joe” Curry Veterans Pow Wow in order to honor an esteemed military veteran of the local community. During his career in the Navy, he served on eight warships, including the U.S.S. Little Rock, which now serves as the primary ship in the Naval Museum in Buffalo, NY. He began his service in the ‘50s, retiring in 1997 having earned numerous honors. “Joe” Curry served two tours in the Korean War and also the Vietnam War. When asked what makes the Seneca pow wow special, Bowen states, “If you come in with a good mind, with a good heart, it’s special… you can sit down, you can watch, you can listen, you can eat, there’s things you can shop… there’s a little bit of everything for everybody!” This year’s event will mark its 30-year anniversary and take place on July 19-21, 2019, in Veteran’s Park on Broad Street in Salamanca, NY. A Gifted Family Shares Their Talent & Knowledge to Revitalize Seneca Culture By Caleb G. Abrams

Both Mary and Sam Jacobs are awardwinning, multi-medium artists whose work (ranging from ornate leather moccasins and fur-tufted mukluks to intricate, hand-beaded medallions, hats, purses and much more) has been featured in exhibitions, art galleries and museums across the United States and Canada. But neither of them seems particularly driven by the accolades or prestige that their work has brought about, for them their artwork and art-making is about learning, com-

munity and sharing what they know. Professionally, Sam (Seneca, Turtle Clan) is a community educator with the Seneca Language and Culture Department who specializes in Haudenosaunee material culture. Her position affords her the opportunity to learn about different methods of traditional and contemporary Haudenosaunee art making. She then brings that knowledge back to the community to share through instruction and by example. Sam explains that her job directly feeds her need to make, learn and teach. “It’s my dream job really,” she says. Sam’s mother, Mary (Seneca, Turtle Clan), works as a nurse at the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Health Center and spends her spare time staying involved in the community and working on her art. “I just really enjoy working with people, helping people,” Mary says with a smile. When discussing her artwork she speaks fondly of the elders who were her first teachers, “one of the things they instilled in me was: if you learn something, share it — because it’s not just for you, it doesn’t belong to you, it’s for all of us, for every-

It is a chilly February evening on the Seneca Cattaraugus Territory and community members have gathered at the Stanley “Sully” Huff Heritage Center for a weekly art-making class led by Seneca artists/makers, teachers, and motherdaughter duo, Mary and Samantha Jacobs. It might be freezing cold outside but the energy in the Jacobs’ classroom is warm and inviting. A steady stream of women shuffles in as the class’ start time approaches. Each individual is greeted with friendly calls and smiles; most have brought some kind of food with them to share with the group. Once everyone is seated and settled Samantha, or Sam, stands and tells the group what tonight’s project will be: pointillist-style canvas paintings inspired by the elaborate floral designs traditionally featured in Haudenosaunee beadwork.

“ We’re always looking for ways to learn and share...It’s how you keep growing. It’s important to challenge yourself.” one.” That belief in sharing what one learns is a kind of mantra for both Mary and Sam. It is at the core of their approach to learning and teaching. The Jacobs family considers sharing what they learn from other Ögwe’ö:weh (Haudenosaunee/Indigenous) artists and makers as a kind of responsibility to the art forms themselves, as well as their fellow Senecas and neighboring Haudenosaunee communities. By sharing the techniques, patterns and methods behind the work and behind the objects, and doing so in a supportive learning environment, Mary and Sam are actively helping revitalize these very practices across Haudenosaunee Country in a very meaningful way. “We’re always looking for ways to learn and share,” Sam says. In fact, they both describe themselves as “constantly learning” and always willing to take a class, attend a workshop or try their hand at something new. “It’s how you keep growing. It’s important to challenge yourself,” says Sam. The Jacobs’ commitment to sharing and educating people also goes beyond Haudenosaunee communities. When displaying their work at art shows or exhibitions both women make a point of using the oppor-

tunity as a platform to educate attendees about Haudenosaunee and Seneca culture. Mary explains that seemingly minor design details, patterns or even materials often serve as entry points to larger conversations about Seneca culture, history and identity. “We’ve had some really great conversations with people,” Mary says. While educating people outside of Haudenosaunee communities is valuable Mary and Sam agree that young Senecas are their most important audience. Mary explains that it goes beyond the skill sets and art making. She says the goal is to provide the youth with a grounded connection to their identity as Onöndowa’ga:’ (People of the Great Hill or Seneca people). Sam hopes that she and her mother’s work helps young Senecas “have some knowledge to fall back on and say, ‘this is who my people are, this is some of the things that we do that I’m able to share with you.’ If it helps them down the road, and makes them stronger in who they are, in their personal identity, I think that’s just amazing, and I think that ultimately makes for a stronger [Seneca].”
