SENECA NIAGARA CASINO ANNOUNCES DECEMBER AND JANUARY DATES FOR FREE LEARN-TO-PLAY TABLE GAMES SESSIONS Blackjack Switch in December; Blackjack in January NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel announces upcoming dates in December and January for its learn-to-play table games sessions. The free, ongoing initiative offers guests the opportunity to get comfortable with some of the liveliest games on the casino floor, such as blackjack, roulette, craps, mini-baccarat and newer offerings like Blackjack Switch and Mississippi Stud Poker. Guests also can now enjoy learning to play table games in completely transformed sections of the casino floor. A $26 million upgrade of the casino is heading toward completion, with new table games areas that include brightly-lit canopies and ultra-comfortable seating with full backrests. More than half of the entire main gaming floor is now open, complete with new features such as new slot machine bases, luxurious chairs, bold carpeting and an intuitive layout to provide a more open environment. Guests are providing very positive reviews and can expect to sense the difference further in the coming weeks, as a multimillion-dollar upgrade will dramatically improve air quality. The learn-to-play sessions are offered every other Wednesday each month. All participants will be able to learn the rules, ask questions and try table games with “play money.” There is even a monthly $10 match play incentive for attending.
Sessions take place from noon to 1 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. at a designated table games pit on the main gaming floor. The upcoming learn-to-play schedule is as follows: December 4: Blackjack Switch December 18: Blackjack Switch January 8: Blackjack January 22: Blackjack Registration is simple and free. Guests simply need to sign up at the designated table games pit starting one hour before each session. As an added incentive, guests who participate in a learn-to-play session will receive one $10 match-play coupon per month that can be used to bet at a table game after the training. Multiple dealer demonstrations and opportunities to try the particular table game with “play money” will take place during each one-hour session. Guests are willing to stay for as little or as long as they would like, until they determine they have gained enough of a comfortlevel and knowledge about the game. December’s learn-to-play game, Blackjack Switch, is back by popular demand. The game is based on blackjack but differs in that two hands, rather than one, are dealt to each playing position. The player is then initially allowed to switch the top two cards between hands. Natural blackjacks are paid 1:1 instead of the standard 3:2, and a hard total of 22 for the dealer will push all player hands except a natural. Players will enjoy the opportunity to change the hands they’re dealt and try to increase their odds of winning. The learn-to-play game for January, Blackjack, is one of the world’s oldest, most popular and easiest table games to play. A player is dealt two cards from a standard deck, with 10’s and face cards equaling 10 and aces equaling either a 1 or 11. The object of the game is to beat to dealer’s hand by having a combination of cards totaling as high as 21. If the first two cards dealt in a hand equal 21, this is called a blackjack and automatically wins. A player can choose to “hit” for more cards if his or her total is less than 21, but any total higher than that amount is called a “bust” and automatically loses. The learn-to-play session at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel will cover additional tips to this classic game, such as doubling-down and making insurance or split bets.
Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel offers 100 table games on property, including blackjack, roulette, craps, mini-baccarat, Caribbean Stud Poker, Let It RideŽ, Pai Gow Poker, threecard poker, and Spanish 21.
