It’s a common story. Woman gets pregnant. Woman delivers baby. Mom and baby go home with their family to live happily ever after in a world full of opportunities at their fingertips. EXCEPT…this isn’t the story for every family. For some, their babies are faced with challenges from the moment they take their first breath, and for others, the trials begin when their baby is older and not developing appropriately. Regardless of when it happens, if your child experiences a developmental challenge, “happily ever after” and “world full of opportunities” can seem like the stuff of fairytales. Feelings of fear, anxiety and hopelessness can consume parents until they become paralyzed not knowing where to turn or what steps to take. What can they do to rewrite their child’s story? How can they ensure their child is given the opportunities they deserve to achieve their dreams…to make happily ever after a reality? Enter Brighton Center, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children with disabilities and developmental delays and their families for 45 years. With a holistic, family-centered approach, the “Brighton Army” infiltrates the homes and lives of families who are in need and seeking support and services to improve their child’s life. Brighton Center provides home-based therapy services, an inclusive and nationally accredited childcare and preschool program, case management, counseling, special education training and family support services. Brighton Center believes that by Exceptional Kids empowering every child and equipping every parent with the necessary knowledge and skills they need, they let every family write their own story. We provide donated, refurbished medical equipment for children ages 0-18. Eligibility requirements must be met, and a medical professional’s prescription for the medical equipment being registered must be provided.
Assistive Technology:
