Non-Medical Home Care Definitions 24 HOUR ON CALL – Refers to ‘around the clock treatment’ in a home environment. The care may be shared by multiple caregivers or by a single caregiver.
BONDED – Being bonded means that a bonding company has secured money that is available to the consumer in the event they file a claim against the company.
ALZHEIMER’S/DEMENTIA CARE – Non-skilled care provided for clients with memory issues includes but not limited to establishing a routine, reminders for activities for daily living, rerouting if necessary and assistance with sleep issues or ‘sun downing’. By using creativity and caregiving skills, you can adapt routines and activities as needs change.
COMPANION/HOMEMAKER SERVICES – Refers to services provided by a companion to be with your family member for a specified amount of time each day up to and including 24-hour supervision. The companions may provide assistance with routine household activities – cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands and shopping. Many agencies
