ORAL MOTOR REGULATION OVERVIEW

Some children struggle with processing and responding to oral sensory information. They may be sensitive to oral input, resulting in resistance to oral activities such as, trying new foods, brushing teeth or eating with utensils. Other children may have decreased sensitivity to oral input. This can impact on their oral motor planning, speech sound production, swallowing, chewing etc.
