WOMEN EMPOWERMENT EVENT
BENEVER BOLD REGULAR
Model Camp SA was founded to assist and encourage the youth to explore opportunities within the Modeling Industry; as most aspiring models have minimal knowledge of how to enter the modeling and pageantry fraternity. We have achieved the greatest impact with positive and meaningful engagement, with aspiring and experienced models alike; our vision is to contribute effectively and foster them and invest in them over the coming years while encouraging the development of beauty with a purpose. Not just superficial beauty but inner beauty combined with the power of the mind; combined effort and synergy with strategic associate partners. Our mission is to build confidence, develop range and versatility, elevating overall experience, and exposure. To educate each attendee on industry standards and practices; through preparedness, to avoid missed opportunities and costly career mistakes. An awakening of the supermodel within each of them.
“Attitude is everything. With ‘Passion, Focus, Resilience and Hard-work’; One’s Dreams Can Come True.” “Stop doubting and take care of your rarity like the most precious flower in your garden.” “You are the dream of all your ancestors,”
Testimonial from Reabetswe Motsukunyane Model Camp SA season 22 has built my confidence and evoked so much growths within me personally and within my passion for modeling. Listening and sharing with others from different backgrounds, realities, and life journeys have taught me more about myself and contributed to helping me overcome some personal challenges. I've met a lot of different personalities and enjoyed the experiences that we had together. I've fallen deeper in love with modeling and I am super excited to explore more and indulge in the next chapter.

Model Camp SA Season 22 winner, Sylvia.G shared her journey to finding herself through modeling.
SENSATIONNEL YAKI BRAID+MAX
Tell us about yourself: How did you get interested in the modeling industry? I had low self-esteem while growing up as I had a very thin and tall looking body structure and really felt very uncomfortable in my own skin. Luckily I had a positive mindset and have always been curious about how to change my circumstances by been creative and to express myself through that. Art has always been a passion to me, so I utilized my abilities to find a way to visually express myself. I had to place myself in a position to overcome my insecurity and to start being confident and truly in a positive tune to start loving myself for who I am. I started with modelling and found that this was perfect for me. Then I attended Model Camp SA boot camp and learned about modeling to build my career.
What are your goals in your career? I would love to grow in the high fashion industry and the commercial side of modelling to finally see myself on billboard advertisements!
What advice can you give to young girls who wish to become a model one day? Always stay true to yourself and no matter what happens, follow your dreams until the right door opens for you!
Modeling is attached to a well-balanced hairstyle. Tell us about your experience using Sensationnel/X-Pression hair products. Sensationnel/X-Pression hair products are and will always be my first choice product when I want to be more diverse and create a more extraordinary and outstanding looking hairstyle. I am always satisfied with the end result when using Sensationnel/X-Pression hair products!

Sensationnel Hair Products S.A is proud to announce that a first-ever “Qrang & X-Pression Dread Locs Style Contest was launched for the public to participate in, especially targeted to all the wonderful talented hairdressers and influencers in the market. The main purpose of the contest was to uplift the spirit and confidence of people in the hair industry experiencing the dire effect of the COVID-19 epidemic emotionally and financially. The contest registrations commenced on the 30th of August 2020 and all participants were given the opportunity to express their creativity through the formation of a beautiful dread style. What made the competition more exciting and interesting was that judging was done by the public themselves through an online voting process. Everyone was amazingly surprised by the extraordinary talent, skills and creativity of the various dread styles the participants submitted. Styles were a mixture of natural talent, great imaginations as well as inspirations from history and exotic cultures. This sparked the curiosity of Sensationnel Hair Products to engage more with the Top 15 participants to share their talent and views surrounding their creative work.

Congratulations! What did it mean to you to be the winner of QRang & X-Pression Dread Locs Style Contest?
One of my dreams has always been to be a cover model for a magazine. I was just waiting for the right opportunity. When I heard that this was one of the prizes of the winner, I was ecstatic. This is like a dream come true. I am very proud of myself and of everyone that entered the competition and would like to end by saying: “Never give up on your dreams!”
Fikile Hyncieth Ntuli
1st Runner Up

What motivated you to participate in the Qrang & X-Pression Dread Locs Style Contest? I was so excited when I noticed the invitation to participate on the web. I knew it would present a great opportunity for me to challenge myself and to move out of my comfort zone, perhaps try a different style or technique. Notwithstanding the fact that I'm a very competitive person, I just wanted to challenge myself and see how it will go.
How did you come up with the idea of the style you created? My goal was to do something ‘Grand’. Unfortunately, when I finally settled on an idea, I realized that I didn't have enough hairpieces to complete the look. So I had to change my approach. Luckily at the time I received a very special gift from someone and the gift just suddenly sparked the true inspiration. So I incorporated the Infinity sign into the Dread Locs Style.
Would you encourage people to use the X-Pression dread locs made by QRang fiber? I will definitely recommend it. The fiber feels natural. It is a good quality product for a reasonable price and it is re-usable. Another reason why I appreciate the product is that it is easy to maintain and rarely tangles, so it’s good for long-term styling and investment.

EVENT HAIRSTYLIST
Hairstylists aren’t granted as many opportunities. For me, it was a great honour to be a part of the contest, especially because it was one of Sensationnel’s brands. Being part of the competition made me feel happy and allowed me to challenge myself to create something different than the normal day-to-day styles.
Hair.by.Precious
How did you feel to be part of Sensationnel’s X-Pression Dread Locs Style Contest?
What encouraged you to use the beautiful accessories on the X-Pression Marley Locs? My inspiration came from the Egyptian Goddess named ‘Hathor’. I love how her hair, accessories, and garments complemented each other. I thought of going with the same concept, but adding a modern touch to it, hence I chose to use pearls and golden rings as accessories.
What encouragement would you give to all participates? The encouragement that I’d give to all participants is that everyone should embrace their own beautiful and unique creative work and to evaluate and treasure the experience and exposure to their amazing skills that this contest provided for. Each individual’s style was unique and special and the styles we created brought forth a variety and creativity to the competition.

Melody Sithole the_hairg What inspired you to go for a short blossom style? I wanted to create something very traditional and in the same instance make it feel new. Something that will make people feel comfortable to choose. Usually, everyone wants to use dread locs to extend the ones that they already have, but I wanted to do something that would push them to do something out of the ordinary without feeling like maybe I'm jumping out of a window. I also utilized hair accessories to give it a new fresh feeling. I'd like to think that I took an old idea and convert it into something that is relatable now, in the sense of the season, the year we are in, and the current fashion trend.
Were there any challenges you faced while creating your dread locs style for the contest? Honestly, nothing. It's fun because I had a completely different idea altogether when I started, but I really love what I ended up with. The hair is easy to use and manage.
How often do you plait dread style in your salon and do you usually use the X-Pression Dread Locs? It's quite often. I guess it is becoming everyone's favourite. I always find it so difficult advising clients on what type of Fibre to choose - but with dread locs it's really easy. Rihanna locs can achieve a variety of dread locs fiber hairstyles such as the natural locs look. I love the fact that you can actually go as far as to curl it!

If you were to give feedback about the X-Pression dread locs what would you say? X-Pression Dread Locs range is suitable for all hair types. They are soft, easy to install and they are re-useable. I’d definitely purchase them for my personal use.
Could you explain the concept of the style which was using by X-Pression Rihanna Locs? I wanted to create an innovative, versatile hairstyle with the vision of promoting “Daring to be different“. Most importantly I wanted to emphasize that our hair does not define who we are therefore, we should not be judged by the way we choose to wear it. This is to all the ladies out there, always wear your crown with confidence. No matter how big or small, whether it sparkles or not just rock it with confidence. #DareToBeDifferent
Would you do the same hairstyle you entered the competition with to your clients and why? I would like to do, if my clients request. Even I will create a much better one depending on the occasion which they are going to attend.

Tell us more about the meaning and motto of salon “Beezy Braids ZA"
Being a ‘Celebrity Stylist’ with your work reflecting your professionalism and the creation and visualization of a specific style or idea, what inspires you? Most of my ideas are inspired by African hairstyles that I conduct research on frequently. Also the inspiration and style are majorly influenced by the individual’s own preference and personality.
How do you cooperate with other professionals in the industry? I enjoy and cooperate very well with other professionals in the industry as usually we all are very creative and all the energy usually collaborates and reflects in our work and end results. We all feel free to express ourselves through a combination of each other’s unique creative ideas. This is personally special and amazing to me. How do you manage to build a personal relationship with a client? I ensure to bring my best plan and suggestion every time to client, as well as keeping in contact with them, specifically with reference of hair advise on new products or styles and maintenance of their hair styles. In keeping this close contact and showing the client that personal interest always helps strengthening our relationship.

Beezy Braids ZA is a unique and exclusive hair salon that operates in the comfort of the clients own homes. The name of the salon originated from a my nickname during high school years when my peers called me “Beezy”. I then just added the suffix 'braids' because of the catchy sound thereof and the “ZA” was added when I took my business to a professional level. Beezy Braids ZA’s motto is ‘Gcwala ngawe’ which translates to: “Be fulfilled with yourself”.

What treatment methods would you recommend to a client that approach you with damaged hair and requests braids with X-Pression Ultra Braid? I would recommend a deep moisture treatment, Cornrow the hair and crotchet the X-Pression Ultra braid extension and then conduct the braiding. This method is the safest way without damaging the hair any further. Share with us your lifetime goal and how you can influence people especially African black ladies. My lifetime goal is to change the perception of natural hair within black women and children. By growing my brand and reaching more people, I can influence and educate more black women to be able to braid themselves. This will allow women to make more time for themselves as well as understand the texture of their own hair better and to love it.

Vanessa Valerie Ifunanya Olachi Alily aka NANYA is a Nigerian born ARTIST, TV presenter, and Founder of THE QUEEN'S GOALS. Vanessa is extremely talented in various fields and she has strong beliefs and a passion for ‘equality’. This passion resulted in Vanessa being the ambassador and creator of THE FABULOUS AMINA ANGELS that entails four fierce African female spies that overcome all odds and fight for equality. Based on Vanessa’s believes for “equality”, she took up the ownership and responsibility of change and established THE QUEEN'S GOALS in 2017 at the age of 20 years. What then started off as a passion, bloomed into a powerhouse of change and hope for African Youth, especially young girls that are more often experiencing disadvantages in society. Vanessa believes that youth girls often experience that their narrative in life is predetermined and their role in society is imprinted that their emotional nature makes them incapable of leadership. In truth, youth girls have a high level of EQ (Emotional Intelligence) that results in valuable characteristics and trademarks to bring forth more positive changes in taking up leadership in various sectors in society. They can promote accountability within places of power, communal responsibilities, and Ubuntu in our society. Her drive is thus to create constructive workshop sessions for the youth girls and focus on matters that affect the youth’s mental, emotional, physical, and even academic wellness – if the youth girls experience balanced wellbeing, they can effectively and successfully build their futures. Through these workshops, a safe environment is created whereby the youth girls have the opportunity to engage with powerful women, experience their success stories, and in the same instance being mentored on a positive self-observation and realization of the true value and uniqueness of their femininity. Vanessa would like to encourage each youth girl to never be limited by societal views and standards, and they are not being defined by society but that they have the freedom to treasure their uniqueness and use it as a positive tool to create changes in society and be good leaders. Most importantly – believe in the African hope and dream of a better future.
