Stereotypical Fan
For our horror trailer ‘Jilted’ our stereotypical fan would be Millie Ryan, an 18 year old girl of a Lower Middle Class background fitting in the D1 demographic. As far as psychographics is concerned Millie would fit into the ‘Aspirer’ category being into the packaging and branding of Horror. Millie breaks the stereotypes that girls who are girly don’t enjoy horror films and that girls are weak and squeamish and can’t handle horror, she is also a Reformer and appreciates how recent horror films are breaking the stereotypes of female characters. Our stereotypical fan would watch series such as ’American Horror Story’ (a horror anthology series) and ‘Pretty Little Liars’ (a teen drama mystery thriller series). The kind of films that Millie enjoys watching included Woman in Black, Paranormal Activity, Scream, Sleepy Hollow and Dark Shadows, especially enjoying the ‘gothic’ aspect of horror and the eye-candy of Johnny Depp, as she is still feminine and girly. As our horror film ‘Jilted’ is a psychological thriller it would be perfect for a girl like Millie as it includes relationships and a female ghost coming back to haunt her abuser.
