LIMITED EDITION ARTIST SERIES

Sereni & Shentel will be launching the second installation of the Artist Series where the brand collaborates with up and coming artists to create a range of limited edition headbands. This second collection was designed in collaboration with Malaysian artist Dura Hana. Dura Hana or D.U.R.A is a designer, artist and fashion illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur.

She is very much inspired by nature, fashion, colours and patterns. D.U.R.A has worked as a fashion graphic designer for four years before moving on making her art fulltime.

She takes her passion for art to the next level by making abstract paintings.

D.U.R.A has created 5 different illustrations on fabric for Sereni & Shentel’s Artist Series. The illustrations have been printed in Borneo and have been made into Sereni & Shentel’s popular Block Party design. The limited edition headbands will be available to purchase in March on their online store www.sereniandshentel.com.

Colourful Rain Water colour on paper Oh rain! I’m happy that you came. With the seven colours that you brought, filling our hearts with joy. This ‘Colourful Rain’ artwork was made when the rain fell on one moody day but then brought a rainbow afterwards that lit up the day.

D.U.R.A is a designer, artist and fashion illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur. She draws girls surrounded with nature elements and intricate line and lace details in the most fashionable ways. She also makes handmade paper dolls based in her fashionable animals characters called ‘Fashion-na-nimal Darlings’. These characters are usually dressed up and that take up most of the runways fashion collection in their closet. It really brings back her childhood memory of favorite past time, playing paper dolls.

Whilst her illustrations revolve around female figure, her abstract painting doesn’t focus on form or shape but playing with colors that depict emotions and feelings. She spends her nights painting on canvases where colors and whimsical brush strokes tell stories of their own with glee.
