RED FOX FINE ART SPECIAL EXHIBIT Red Fox Fine Art, a leading gallery of 19th and 20th century sporting paintings and sculpture based in Middleburg, Virginia, presents a special exhibit of American and British sporting art. The Gaillard Center

The Charleston Gaillard Center’s superior performance hall and event space will house SEWE’s live performances and outstanding local, regional and national artisans and craftsmen.

JEFF CORWIN As a television personality, nature conservationist and author, Jeff Corwin will entertain and delight SEWE attendees with live animal presentations on Friday and Saturday. Best known as host and executive producer of Ocean Mysteries on ABC, Corwin is recognized as a global leader in exploration and conservation. Seating is firstcome, first-served. BUSCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Busch Wildlife Sanctuary will explore the wonders of natural ecosystems. From bobcats, foxes and birds of prey to alligators and snakes, SEWE attendees will get an up-close look at the animals that call these places home. Seating is first-come, first-served. THE SEWE MARKETPLACE AT THE GAILLARD CENTER

ARTISANS, CRAFTSMEN & SOUTHERN TASTEMAKERS The SEWE Marketplace at the Gaillard Center will feature a mix of creations by premier local, regional and national exhibitors including handcrafted furniture, woodworking, leather goods, jewelry, knife makers and more unique finds.

COPLEY FINE ART AUCTION PREVIEW Copley Fine Art Auctions, the nation’s premier decoy and sporting art auction house, will host its 2022 Art Decoy and Auction Exhibit Preview during SEWE 2022. The preview will offer the opportunity to see world-class paintings and fine bird carvings. Items will be available to preview on Friday, February 18, through Sunday, February 20 beginning at 10 am. THE CENTER FOR BIRDS OF PREY The Center for Birds of Prey flight demonstrations are some of the most entertaining and educational shows during SEWE. Witness incredible flight demos from a range of raptors including falcons, eagles, owls and hawks and learn about the important role they play in our ecosystem. See schedule for times.

FRESH ON THE MENU / CERTIFIED SOUTH CAROLINA KITCHEN STAGE Presented by the SC Department of Agriculture Hosted by the Lee Bros.

Watch more than a dozen of South Carolina’s greatest chefs, farmers and home cooks demonstrate how to prepare some of their favorite recipes with locally grown and produced ingredients. CHARLESTON VISITOR CENTER Visit the newly installed permanent sculpture in the Charleston Visitor Center, For Spacious Skies by Walter Matia. Donated to the City of Charleston by the SEWE Board of Directors and staff, the sculpture represents SEWE’s continued effort to promote public art. For Spacious Skies is the first link to a public sculpture trail, connecting downtown Charleston to the current works in Mount Pleasant by a group of SEWE artists. 5


Educational Programs KIDS FOR CONSERVATION Sponsored by Dominion Energy

SEWE’s Kids for Conservation (KFC) program promotes wildlife and environmental conservation awareness for tri-county youth. JUNIOR DUCK STAMP ART CONTEST Sponsored by South Carolina Ducks Unlimited

Once again, SEWE has partnered with SCDNR and the US Fish & Wildlife Service for the SC Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Combining science and art, this program teaches K-12 students about waterfowl and wetlands conservation. SHEEP AND DUCK HERDING DEMONSTRATIONS Join Bill Coburn, Windy Knolls Farm owner and master trainer, as he showcases the fascinating world of the Border Collie breed’s herding instinct. Watch his collies artfully muster sheep and ducks through various obstacles with only a whistle and a few commands. See schedule for times.

TWO TANK DOCKDOGS® COMPETITIONS Watch dogs of all breeds and skill levels compete in various water jumping competitions in side-by-side tanks. “Waves” of competition held throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with finals Sunday afternoon. RETRIEVER DEMONSTRATIONS Able handlers and dogs of various breeds and ages will put on demonstrations of retrieving skills. See schedule for times.

QUAIL VILLAGE SEWE is excited to introduce the Quail Village at Brittlebank Park, led by the South Carolina Bobwhite Initiative. This group of exhibitors is dedicated to reversing the decline of the bobwhite quail population and hopes to inspire property owners and managers, conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts to be part of this once-in-a-generation challenge.

Join the Charleston Safari Club for their Annual Gala Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6-11 pm at The Harbour Club at Westedge. BIRDWATCHING PRESENTED BY GARDEN & GUN NEW

Drawing from nature, the splendors of bird-watching, and the interconnectivity between humans and the natural world, this immersive experience takes viewers on a journey between the Joseph Manigault House, The Dewberry hotel, and the Garden & Gun offices at the Cigar Factory, sparking wonder and awareness of avian conservation. Curated and artistically directed by Kelly S. Turner, each individual birdscape is inspired by eighteenth- and nineteenthcentury artist-naturalists and features the work of artists Brandon Ballengée, Clare Celeste Börsch, and J. Drew Lanham. Map Your Day SEWE has three continuous loops for ticket and badge holders and two VIP express shuttles for badge holders only. Shuttles are for your convenience but please note bus times can be unpredictable due to traffic. Many venues are walkable (see map). SEWE shuttles operate from 9:45 am through 30 minutes after close of show Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

SEWE shuttle is provided at no additional cost for SEWE ticket and badge holders during show hours. We highly recommend using the free SEWE shuttle service. Ticket or badge required.

ADDITIONAL PARKING Additional parking near Brittlebank will be available on February 19 & February 20 for a flat rate of $5. Follow signage on Lockwood Blvd. to the lot behind the police station on Fishburne Street. RIDE SHARE Parking is very limited in Charleston. Ride share and carpooling are strongly advised.

PARKING REMINDERS No parking allowed in the grassy areas in front of Brittlebank. There will be limited to no parking at Brittlebank on Friday, February 18.
