Annual Exhibit Returns this Spring

Calling all ages! Create a diorama using those deliciously sweet, marshmallow Peep treats as your main characters. Let your imagination swirl with visions of Peeps in your head, as you illustrate your favorite book, movie or any other scene of your choice.

Who can participate? This contest is for everyone! You can create a scene on

March 18. Kits are available while supplies last; first come, first served. Use the kit to craft your own diorama set with whatever box or stage you create. Assemble your diorama at home, then return your creation to the library by March 26.

Don’t have a puzzle to leave? No worries, you can still borrow one. Want to donate a puzzle but don’t want to take one? That’s fine, too!

The puzzle exchange is open all. Puzzles are located in the Colbert Room of the library (also known as “the fireplace room”).

The Allegheny County Libraries App is an simple way for users to connect to library materials & services. Card holders can link their library card so they can easily manage their account, search the catalog, request items, generate a digital library card to use at the library, link family cards, access digital resources, and view the library event calendar.

One of the coolest features from this app is the mobile checkout function. With mobile checkout, users can use the camera on their phone to scan library barcodes to checkout – similar to how the checkout station works. Use this feature as you browse to instantly check out your items.

SPL is Now Fine-Free!

Sewickley Public Library wants to make sure has access to library books, movies, regardless of circumstances. ve removed the barriers that can keep folks away from the library! The Library no longer charges late/overdue fines on any of items we lend. By going fine-free, SPL aims to get both our patrons and materials back in the library to better serve our entire community. Read Across America Day

Community Read Aloud

All are welcome to attend the Community Read Aloud hosted by the Quaker Valley teachers on Saturday, March 25 from 10am - 12pm at Edgeworth Elementary School (200 Meadow Ln, Edgeworth). Listen along to stories read by some of your favorite teachers (and SPL Librarians, too!) and enjoy fun activity stations. All children that attend receive a new book!
