SPIRITUALITY: DIVE DEEP
TRANSFORMATION HAPPENS HERE
Central to our mission as a Catholic school is instilling values that become integral to our students. The Franciscan values are at the heart of the SFHS experience. Our teachers lead by example to form innovative, moral, and compassionate leaders.
Campus Ministry
The Pastoral Ministry Team provides all students with opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection. The goal is to accompany and inspire students, as they discover their gifts and passions through God’s guidance.
Retreats
Retreats grow by grade and purpose, in length and intensity. Retreats take place during the school week so everyone can participate. We recognize that spiritual growth is just as important as academic growth. Retreats include Freshman Franciscan Service, Sophomore One-Day Retreat, Junior Two-Day Retreat, and Senior Kairos.
Christian Service
Students complete at least 15 hours of Christian Service each year. Students are guided to share their gifts with others. Students uncover their role as servant leaders in their communities and in the world around them.
Liturgies
Throughout the school year, our chaplain celebrates monthly schoolwide Masses. Students may also celebrate an optional Mass at 7:10 a.m. in our campus chapel.
“St. Francis has taught me God shows Himself throughout our halls. His grace brings us together and makes us one.”
– Alicia A. ‘25

STUDENT SUPPORT: EXPERIENCE THE ATTENTION YOU DESERVE
A strong support system is critical during the high school years and our low student-to-faculty and studentto-counselor ratios mean that we get to know and understand each student on a deeper level.
Teacher Support
The faculty and staff are a diverse group of extraordinary, dedicated, and caring professionals who know their students. Teachers are mentors and challenge students to be the best version of themselves.

Medium-Sized School
SFHS offers the best of both worlds – the familiarity of a small school and the resources and programs of a larger institution. Small class sizes allow each student to receive more independent instruction and guidance. SFHS is full to the brim with activities, giving students a variety of opportunities without getting lost in the crowd.
Counseling
The SFHS Counseling staff ensures comprehensive, ongoing, and professional assistance. Students partner with both a school counselor and a college counselor during their time at SFHS. Counselors work one-on-one with students to ensure the journey is rewarding, and they learn as much about themselves as they do about life after high school.
Peer Tutoring
The National Honor Society Peer Tutoring program allows every student the opportunity to sign up with a peer tutor during study hall periods, before school, or after school.
Spartan Study
Spartan Study serves students who have the potential to succeed academically, but may require more individualized support to excel in SFHS’s rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. Students accepted into this program have diagnosed learning differences, and Individualized Education Plan (IEP), a 504 Plan, Other Health Impairments (OHI), Response to Intervention (RTI) plans, a current psycho-educational evaluation report, or neuropsychological evaluation report.

“Once a Spartan, Always a Spartan.”
“My experience at St. Francis has positively influenced my life in countless ways, but the most notable have been the connections I’ve made with great friends, families, and faculty. SFHS gave me an invaluable set of tools to navigate my life and has set me on a course in which the only limiting factor to my success is my own decisions. I learned how to take risks in striving for my educational, professional, and personal goals, and I’ve used my experience in this countless times. Thank you to SFHS for allowing me a safe, comfortable setting to reflect on what matters to me and grow as a person.”

ALUMNI TESTIMONIALS
“St. Francis is truly an amazing place and has given me so much. I am forever grateful for the friendships, connections, and memories I have made. St. Francis helped me to grow in my confidence and helped me to pursue my goals of attending college to study biomedical health sciences. I was given unending support every single day, and really felt like every teacher truly wanted to see me succeed. St. Francis offers so many opportunities to get involved, and these activities were where some of my best memories were made, whether it was lacrosse, SALT, or SMT! As many times as you are going to hear it here, the community truly is the best part! Thank you, St. Francis, for changing my life!”
– Caelynn Kohut ‘21 Purdue University
“SFHS gave me a community of people –friends, teachers, staff members – that I am still close to and rely on today. I get lunch with my history teacher each semester to catch up and always let my biology teacher know when I used something I learned from her class in my college biology courses. Additionally, I met lifelong friends at St. Francis –people I will ask to be in my wedding someday.”
– Emery Carlson ‘22 Georgetown University
“In my time at St. Francis, I learned so many valuable lessons and was introduced to countless people that have helped shape my life. My teachers instilled in me the importance of hard work and taught me that it is always okay to seek help from others - two things that helped make the transition from high school to college so seamless. In addition to what I learned in the classroom, SFHS fostered many personal relationships with both my classmates and with faculty that I am lucky to say will last a lifetime.”
