WELCOMING LETTERS Dear APAC Forensics Participants, Seoul Foreign School is honored to be a part of APAC. We are confident that the opportunities APAC students have to interact with students from other international schools are unique and stimulating. Best wishes for a fruitful and memorable experience here at Seoul Foreign School as you share your love for forensics together. Have a great week!

n behalf of the parents, students, faculty and staff of Seoul Foreign School, I want to welcome you to Seoul and to the 2014 APAC Forensics Festival. We are pleased that you have journeyed to Seoul and hope that your time here will be enjoyable and personally fulfilling. Personally, I look forward to watching you perform.

Warmly,

Several years ago, Seoul Foreign School completed the celebration of its 100th anniversary as one of the oldest international schools in the world, having been founded in 1912. Currently, we are privileged to serve 1440 students in Pre-K through grade 12 who come from 52 different countries. Our school mission reads as follows, “Seoul Foreign School, centered in Christ, inspires academic excellence and promotes Christian values, personal integrity and responsible global citizenship through a dynamic international experience.

Dear APAC Forensics Participants, n behalf of all at Seoul Foreign School, I wish to extend to you the warmest of welcomes! Our host country Korea is a land rich in tradition and culture. Known as ‘The Land of the Morning Calm,’ Korea’s history is one laced with hospitality, courtesy, and warmth and all of us at SFS hope that you will find Korea and our school a great place to visit. Korea’s appreciation of education and rhetoric can be vividly traced over Korea’s 5,000 year history. We are eager to appreciate your oratory talents and hope you will flourish and find a new form of expression in this vibrant culture.

speeches and debates of this weekend will challenge us all to deeper levels of understanding and reflection as each participant’s thinking is sharpened by each participant’s selection. Thank you for being an important part of this event! An APAC Festival is unlike any other experience you will enjoy during your high school days, and it is my greatest desire that this APAC Festival will be challenging, creatively invigorating, and above all, fun for each of you. As you get to know our students and their families through homestays, dinners, performances, and ceremonies, I’m sure you’ll have the opportunity to establish friendships and acquaintances, which will last a lifetime. And then, upon your return to your own schools and homes, I pray that you’ll treasure your warm memories of this APAC festival at Seoul Foreign School. I am confident you will find our students and their families to be amongst the finest in the world!

It is a joy for SFS to host this year’s APAC Forensics Tournament! SFS was blessed to host the first APAC Forensics event in 2007! Forensics is a fantastic activity that provides each participant with a platform upon which you can apply your oratory gifts and talents to either weave a tale, persuade on a passionate topic or entertain and delight an audience! I commend each of you for having the courage to stand up in front of your peers and present your thoughts and selections. SFS loves forensics. It allows each participant an opportunity to develop their own voice and ideas which are all to be passionately shared in a public forum. I am confident that the

May God abundantly bless you with a safe and highly rewarding Forensics experience! Let the fun begin!
