SHEA SJOBERG • FALL 2015 • PORTFOLIO
S H E A S J O B E RG I am a San Francisco based graphic designer. I will be graduating from the Design and Industry program at San Francisco State University in Spring 2016. I have experience working as an in house designer at a small on line clothing company and a graphic design intern at a successful San Diego marketing agency MJE Marketing. I am currently employed as a Graphic Designer by the Liberal and Creative Arts College at SF State on the communications team. Through my experience working as a designer at each of these unique companies I have learned office etiquette, professional presentation skills, and most importantly, how to work successfully as a team.

BRANDING • PRINT
M O R R I SO N CO N CE R T S E R I E S This is a branding system that I created for San Francisco State University’s 60th Annual Morrison Artist Series. The Morrison Artist Series consists of nine concerts of varying artists. This is a brand identity for the season consisting of a few different sized posters, a program template, and a postcard. The copy and images of the pieces will change, but the layout and branding will stay the same from concert to concert.

POSTER
M O K E H I LL M U S IC F E STIVAL The Moke Hill Music Festival is a small festival in the foothills of California, that was marketed in its surrounding urban cities. Nature engulfs the small town, and it was a necessary design choice to include this feeling. The idea behind this poster was to create a “folkie small town feel while still being contemporary and clean with design.

REBRANDING
AQ UA S U R F S H O P R E B R AN D This is a conceptual brand identity for a local San Francisco surf shop. Aqua Surf Shop is down the street from my house, and a popular destination for local surfers in the bay area to purchase surf gear, clothing, and more. The shop recently moved to a new location that gets much more foot traffic. Along with the move, they redesigned the way their shop interior looks. The shop is now trendy, and well designed, but their logo is still dated and clunky—hence my conceptual rebrand.

CALLIGRAPHY • EXPERIENTIAL
CALLI G R AP H Y O N WI N DOWS Hand done calligraphy on the windows of a San Diego art gallery. I was commisioned to write prison statistics in the U.S. on the windows of the gallery for the show opening. The show consisted of artwork done by prisoners while being incarcerated. The goal of my calligraphy on the windows was to entice foot-traffic to stop and read the statistics, as well as enter the gallery.
