The tourism expert who was the director of the Ferienmesse St.Gallen trade show for many years knows about event planning. Organising runs through her veins and as the Co-Head of the Convention Bureau, she calls the shots. She handles the finances and strategy, manages the employees and is a member of the management board of St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourism.

The event manager has international experience and is Co-Head together with Bettina Güntensperger. She represents Eastern Switzerland with a great deal of passion and is proud to have the opportunity to promote this Swiss region as an insider tip. Anja Sachse is responsible not only for all sales planning, she also oversees conventions and is an ambassador for micelab:bodensee.

A fairytale career in tourism: Business internship at Thurgau Tourism, bachelor’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons and avid traveller. She skilfully manages our social media channels, the newsletter, the website and the meeting planner and is responsible for seminar enquiries.

Moritz Nägeli grew up close to Lake Constance and is proud to promote his native region. Thanks to his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons and subsequent internship at St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourism, he knows how to represent Eastern Switzerland and is well-acquainted with the highlights of the region.

Research – micelab:explorer micelab:explorer is the training platform’s research lab where ideas are forged. Here a close look is taken at the factors that influence conferences, meetings and events. Particular attention is paid to the impact on people: the architecture and environment of an event venue as well as the facilities, the setting, and the use of dramatic effects, facilitation, and the impact of different event formats and transmission methods.

Learn – micelab:experts The findings of the micelab:explorer are tested here to determine whether they can be put into practice. To this end, the micelab:experts learning module is an ideal platform with plenty of free space for trying out new event concepts or unusual formats.

Transmit – micelab:extracts micelab:extract is a handy and attractive booklet containing the most important research findings and insights from the lab and from real-world practice.

The Hotel Walhalla has been part of the St.Gallen cityscape since the 19th century. The building first opened to hotel guests in 1887. To continue offering guests a contemporary ambience, the Hotel Walhalla was closed for extensive renovations in May 2018. The traditional building was reopened in autumn 2019. Founded in the year 2000 by the Frei brothers from Eastern Switzerland, tibits is known for its tasty, fresh and healthy food and drinks – vegetarian and vegan. It is taken care to use regional and seasonal ingredients, use no flavour enhancers, and the bread and pastries and all the dairy products are guaranteed to meet organic or Demeter standards. The journey starts in the St.Gallen Textile Museum. The museum brings Appenzell folklore to life, with live demonstrations such as cheese-making in the 400-year-old alpine hut, embroidery and weaving, but also Zauren, or natural yodelling, and Talerschwingen, a traditional way of making music by spinning a coin in a bowl. History comes alive in the Tamina gorge. This is the source of the 36.5° warm thermal water which has made Bad Ragaz world famous. The Tamina gorge was created by the power of the Tamina. The water of this small river has been gradually carving out a deep gorge over the last 15,000 years. The narrow crevice is about 750 m long and 70 m deep. At the Alte Bad Pfäfers, the gorge widens enough for there to be a single-lane road along the last 4 km of the Tamina connecting Bad Ragaz with the Alte Bad Pfäfers. Mystery in the Old Town Capacity: unlimited St.Gallen or Appenzellerland

To get to know another side of oneself and dive into another world? Abenteuer-Zeitreisen TOPAZ takes the participants on a very special journey through time with different theme meals. In an old town whodunit, Inspector Gübeli wants to find the murderer in the team’s midst, eight people are under suspicion. Al Capone might abduct the participants and take them back to Chicago’s underground world of the 1920s, where they will be confronted by prohibited games of chance.

The first workshop will give you an exciting insight into the world of watchmaking. You work at the watchmaker’s work table and learn how to make a watch tick again. After the first workshop has been successfully completed, you can assemble a wrist watch yourself in a second workshop.

The world-famous Balik smoked salmon is made by hand in an unexpected location amidst the breathtaking beauty of the foothills of the Alps. Take a guided tour through the farm and visit the on-site recording studio. When the tour is over visitors can sample the salmon specialities made on the farm. Gilded onion-shaped domes, bright colours, curved lines, asymmetrical windows, uneven floors and green roofs are what characterises the architecture of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. There is still a lot to be done in and around the market hall. Working in a team under professional guidance, we have the opportunity to make our own Hundertwasser-style showpieces in the market hall. It is also possible to create a decoration to hang up in a room at the head office, branch office or cafeteria.

Make your own pasta Capacity: up to 20 people Sargans

The special event for company outings, friends or family. Visitors look behind the scenes of the Pasta Lounge in Sargans and become a part of it all. Under expert supervision, they make their own pasta, which they can take home with them. Afterwards, guests can enjoy fresh pasta in the cosy Pasta Lounge at the Sargans train station. On request, the Pasta Lounge team will create a cocktail reception, organise a wine tasting or treat you to a deluxe pasta chat.
