MEMORANDUM TO: Members of the Student Government of Loyola Chicago FROM: Michael F. Fasullo DATE: May 17, 2015 SUBJECT: University Senate Appointees The purpose of this memo is to make the student body and members of the Student Government of Loyola Chicago, hereafter referred to as SGLC, aware of who Mariana and I have selected to become 2015 -2016 Student Senators in University Senate. There are five seats open to students on University Senate. It is expected for the Vice President of SGLC to sit on the Executive Committee of University Senate. This year, more than twice as many students applied for the available positions in University Senate. We were impressed with the quality of all of the applicants. We encourage all of those who were not selected to stay in touch with University Senate and apply again in the future. Mariana and I have selected the following appointees based upon their strong commitment to advocate for students, especially those students whom are often silenced by our society. They recognized that their role in University Senate would be an opportunity to grow our student body, more so than an opportunity to solely benefit them. Their interviews and applications clearly showed us that they were very much willing to devote themselves entirely to the betterment of Loyola’s student body. Mariana and I are proud to appoint the following students: Samya Abu-Orf Alinaa Alsaud Mariana Chavez Lucas Fleisher Dominick Hall We look forward to their leadership and the SGLC Senate’s approval of their appointment in the fall.
