A residence is an establishment used by a host as their main place of dwelling or home. In other words a residence is typically a house, mansion, cottage or grand castles and places. Most conventional modern houses contain a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or cooking area, and a living room. Situated on the foot hills of Shillong, Nilaya is a residence specially designed for a doctor with his/her clinic space. Covering a vast area of 515 sq. m, it not only is a private space, as clinic space is also designed adjacent to it, the house serves as a public space too. The zoning here has played a massive part in segregating the public and private spaces.
