FUNDRAISING TIPS & TRICKS PERSONALIZE YOUR PAGE MAKE YOUR FUNDRAISING A SPLASH! Visualize your fundraising strategy like the splash and ripple of a pebble dropped in water.
SPLASH Email your “Inner Circle” so that could be 5-10 very close contacts (like your family and a couple of close friends). Your closest contacts are most likely to give to your effort and will build your foundation of support.
RIPPLE 1 Email 10-15 of your close contacts (usually 10-15 of your closest friends)
RIPPLE 2 Email all other contacts that you feel comfortable reaching out to such as: co-workers, friends of friends, distant relatives, others in your email “contact list”.
RIPPLE 3 Share your fundraising page on your social media accounts. Make sure to include how close you are to making your goal. Studies show that the closer you are to your goal, the more likely people are to give. People really want to be part of a “movement”.
Add a personalized description of why you chose to fundraise on behalf of SGV Habitat. Also, make sure to include a photo of yourself or your team!

Your supporters are more likely to give if they see that someone else already has. And who better than yourself? Making your own donation shows that you are serious about transforming lives and communities in the San Gabriel Valley.
FOLLOW UP. CHECK IN. REMIND. Keep folks updated on your progress. Share stories and reminders of why Habitat for Humanity is important to you. You can also share any related blog posts or stories in your social media news feeds or daily readings. And look out for our bi-weekly emails with easy copy and paste materials you can simply add to your social media platforms. We will do all the work! All you have to do is copy and paste!
THANK, THANK, AND THANK AGAIN. Your personal fundraising page will automatically send a thank you email when someone makes a donation. However, you should also thank each person individually, whether through a social media shout out, personal note or phone call.
