E4 and Channel Four comparision: Opportunities and Limitations
Although Channel 4 and E4 come under the same company, with Channel 4 being E4’s parent company, the two have very different and distinct differences between their channel ethos and design, particularly when regarding their channel’s ident.
The two adverts have very differences purposes in their approach. E4’s approach to promote is channel is by making the advert very colourful and has constantly got things happening in the scene, like the moving teddy, and purple goo coming out of the draws. This is done so that it isn’t dull for the target audience that is teens and young adults. E4’s stand out from other channels because it’s idents are colourful, comically random so young audience would appeal to it. E4 adverts are made to be recognizable but using a purple colour scheme for audiences to assume it is their identity. The channel 4 logo has been kept the same through the years, but has just been played with into different scenarios.. The reason is that it keeps its identity so it is recognizable. Design wise, the E4 is youthful because it is
