The purpose of this project was to design a multi-level 200 car parking garage using concrete construction. It contains direct access to the down town Gaines Street District of Tallahassee, and access to and from my mixed-use building in the front south facade. My design concept for the facade was this ribbon form based off of the motion of cars incorporated with my precedent study.
The goal of this design was to create a small urban mixeduse three-story building on a 16’ x 36’ plot of land located in the down town All Saints District of Tallahassee, FL. I noticed a repetitive theme in the neighborhood in regards to the use of masonry and wood, which is inspired me to envoke it. Brick is smaller and relatable to human scale on the ground level (office space), which leads up to a larger scale for the combined upper levels (two bedroom loft). I decided to incorporate a roof garden with intentions of replacing some of the green spaces below that the building would be covering.
