RAISE THE PADDLE collaborative environment with a business and technology driven design. This innovative learning environment, with state-of-the-art equipment, will empower students while inspiring interest in STEM careers.
The classroom has come a long way from blackboards and chalk. The 21st-century model revolves around interaction, collaboration, and technology. Experts forecast a majority of jobs will incorporate coding skills or computational thinking by as early as 2020.
The future of the world is in the classroom today.
A makerspace instills the maker mindset in students through a series of creative experiences while simultaneously building 21st-century skills. Use of technical tools fosters innovation: thinking, modeling, making. It is hands-on and high-tech using a trial and error approach. Makerspaces allow students to think outside the box and innovate.
Please raise your paddle high, give generously tonight and help us achieve our goal. Listen for a very special matching challenge to be presented tonight. On behalf of all Lancers, current and future, our entire faculty and staff and our community, we offer our most humble thank you. Your donation to the Fund-A-Need is 100% tax deductible. Gifts at the levels below are most appreciated.

a n ote fr o m o ur ch a ir men Howdy Y’all! Thank you for joining us and welcome to the 47th annual Kennedy Catholic KATCH Auction! We are honored to be part of the Kennedy Catholic family and are excited to share this evening with you all. A BIG thank you to the Auction Committee, faculty and the amazing volunteers for their time and effort to make this a hugely successful community event to benefit all of our students.
This year, KATCH Fund-A-Need contributions will help create a makerspace lab. We are excited to support this important upgrade in our students learning environment, and hope you will all do the same. We look forward to sharing in tonight’s celebration and success with our parents, faculty, alumni and community members. It is alongside all of you that we have been able to raise children to be proud of, making memories to last a lifetime!
As our last year as parents of a student at Kennedy Catholic High School is coming to an end, we look back on our time here with fondness. Our children have been educated, loved, supported and well prepared for their next steps in life.
Thank you again and enjoy the evening! Paul and Nicolle Kemp

AUCTION RULES By bidding in the live or silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules. 1. Upon entry each guest will be given a bid paddle. Each person issued a bid paddle assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising there from Kennedy Catholic High School, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction. Silent Auction: Write your bid number on the silent auction bid sheet next to the amount you wish to bid. You may not write in amounts; you must use the amounts listed on the bid sheet. No bidder may block access to the bid sheets. Place your bid and step back from the bid sheet. The bid number next to the highest bid amount will be declared the purchaser of that item. Guaranteed Bids: If you wish to guarantee your purchase of a particular item, write your bid number on the line at the bottom of the bid sheet designated “Guaranteed Bid”. By doing so, you agree to pay the “Guaranteed Bid” amount and that item is yours. Table Closing: All items on the silent auction tables may be bid upon until the tables are officially closed by the judges. Persons in process may complete writing their bid. In the event of a dispute, the closing judge or designated silent auction official will determine the winning bid. The official’s decision will be final. If there are two or more bidders actively bidding on an item at the time the table closes, they may notify a silent auction official and request a mini oral auction. Winning Bid: The highest bid written on the silent auction form, and designated by the silent auction official as the top bid, is a legal contract to purchase that silent auction item.
27
AUCTION RULES Live Auction: Bidders should be seated before the live portion of the auction begins. Raise your paddle high in the air, facing the direction of the auctioneer so the auctioneer can clearly see your bid number. After the last paddle has been raised, the auctioneer will announce the item SOLD and will move to the next item. A bid acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item; an auction official will bring you a form to sign acknowledging your purchase. In the event of a dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have sole discretion to determine the winning bid or to re-offer the item in dispute. 1. Kennedy Catholic High School has, in good faith, attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly, but all items are offered as is, where is. The school neither warrants nor represents, and in no event will be responsible for, the correctness of description, authenticity, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement contained in the catalog or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability. 2. Values set on items at the auction are only estimates and not warranted by the school for tax purposes or fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. 3. KATCH reserves the right to withdraw or add any item from sale, without notice, prior to the call for bids. 4. Unless otherwise noted, all goods, services or certiďŹ cates must be claimed and used within one year of the date of the auction. 5. Reservations, accommodations, events, and the like, must be mutually arranged upon with the donor unless otherwise noted. Tickets in travel packages are for coach class services unless otherwise noted. No refunds, for any reason, will be given for cancelled or unused events, travel packages and/or accommodations.
28
AUCTION RULES 6. All purchases are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items for any reason. No item may be returned to the donor. 7. All items must be removed from the school by the end of the auction, unless other arrangements have been made. 8. Any purchased item unclaimed after 30 days will become the property of the KATCH Office unless prior arrangements have been made. 9. A written or oral bid at KATCH constitutes a legal contract to buy the item. All sales are final. In case of disputes, the decision of the KATCH official is final. 10. KATCH and the auctioneer reserve the right to reject any bid which is a partial advance over the prior bid increment. 11. All items must be paid for the night of the auction. Payment by a successful bidder may be made no sooner than 30 minutes after the closing of a silent bid and no sooner than 10 minutes after the closing of a live bid. Payment may be made by cash/check or credit card. 12. Items may be removed from the building only by exhibiting a receipt from the KATCH Bank to security
