We cherish our diversity!

Dear Partner Agents, We just completed the 2018-2019 school year! I sincerely thank you for your support this year. Twenty-two international seniors graduated successfully along with 183 domestic students on May 31, and they are heading to top universities with pride and confidence. I am very proud of our 100% graduation rate and college admission for international students! Many of our graduates’ family members traveled to Seattle to attend the international graduation reception and commencement ceremony at the end of May. President Mike Prato greeted our graduates and their family members at the reception to congratulate them. Although our students are currently out of school, the Office of International Education (IE) is busy finalizing our admission process. The office will be closed in the month of July.

Just as many other schools and colleges in the U.S. are experiencing, Kennedy Catholic has noticed a decline in student enrollment from the Chinese market. However, overall admissions are strong because of our focus on diversifying our international student body to ensure a healthy balance of international students. We cherish our diversity and provide international opportunities to all students, faculty and staff, and the community. In this edition, we will share graduation highlights and important information about the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Wishing you a happy summer! Sincerely, Mariko Fujiwara, Director Office of International Education

MOVING UP ASSEMBLY On the very first day of school, Lancers are sent through a gauntlet of cheering teachers, staff and Link Crew Leaders. This is brought full circle when seniors enter their final gauntlet at the Moving Up assembly, celebrating the memories and experiences during their four years at Kennedy Catholic.

NEW DORM PARENT AND MANAGER - WELCOME! Cyn grew up in the Philippines and was educated in Catholic schools managed by RVM (Religious of the Virgin Mary) sisters. When she came to the United States in 1983, she pursued a career in project management and sales. She has one daughter who currently lives in Seattle. In her spare time, Cyn volunteers at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and Friend to Friend America.
