Dear Lancer Family, We are excited to have our students back on campus with us! Please read through the important logistical information below. This information will allow for the safest return to campus for all involved.
COHORTS
Students are split into cohorts based on their last names. You are in cohort # _____________________. Last name begins with:
Cohort 1
A-E
Cohort 2
F-L
Cohort 3
M-Q
Cohort 4
R-Z
Cohorts 1 & 2 will attend classes in person Mondays and Tuesdays while Cohorts 3 & 4 will attend classes in person Thursdays and Fridays. These days of the week are subject to change based on scheduling, so please confirm on the website each week or check the calendar attached. Community Days will be non-Zoom days for all students. On select Community Days we will welcome a particular class on campus to participate in community building activities, attend Mass, etc.
BUILDING HOURS
The school building will be open to students from 7:30am – 4:30pm. Rides must be arranged so that students are not on campus before, or after, these times unless they are participating in a school-sanctioned event. Any student arriving before the doors open (A Block days 8:00am/B Block days 9:00am) must enter through the gym main doors and complete the COVID-19 screening. After classes have been dismissed, all students who wish to remain on campus will either be in study hall/Lancer Academy or Math Lab, which will both be in the cafeteria. The building will close promptly at 4:30pm and students will be expected to be picked up.

STAGGERED START
Students must check into one of the following places: Gym main doors (only 7:30am – 8:00am or 9:00am depending on block day), B-Wing door, C-Wing basement door, Main door. To ensure all students are screened properly for COVID-19 symptoms, there will be a staggered start each day. The staggered entrance is based on last name: Last name starting with A-E and M-Q
Last name starting with F-L and R-Z
A Block
8-8:20am
8:20-8:40am
B Block
9-9:25am
9:25-9:50am
Zero hour courses will meet at 8:20-9:30am on B Block
Students will then head directly to their first period of the day (1st period for A Block and 5th period for B Block) for a study hall until class begins. Everyday will begin with prayer and announcements.
SKYWARD WELLNESS SCREENING
To expediate the screening process, we are asking all students to download the Skyward app on their phones. If a student does not have a phone there will be screening questions upon entrance. Once the app is downloaded students will complete the Wellness Screening on the home page each day. To enter the school, a student must show the screen that states the Wellness Screening has been completed and passed. This will also be the process for all students that ride the bus in the morning. No student will enter the building without passing the Wellness Screening and the temperature check.
CLASSROOMS
Once students have been screened, they will head directly to their classroom. There will be no lockers. Students will wipe in and wipe out of every classroom. Cleaning wipes will be available for this process and training will be done by each classroom teacher. Classroom teachers will assign their students a specific desk in each classroom to ensure proper distancing and facilitate contact tracing more easily, if necessary. Each classroom’s ventilation systems will be running all day; therefore, students should dress in layers. Because we are a 1-1 school, all electronic devices should be charged at home each night (see the Technology Handout for more information).
DRESS CODE
We have high-capacity ventilation systems which will continuously circulate fresh air throughout the building and classrooms. However, as an additional protocol, windows will be left open for periods of time to allow for further air circulation and fresh air flow. Some teachers may even elect to keep windows open longer than the time set by the maintenance staff. As you might suspect, this is likely to result in some cooler inside temperatures at times. Dressing in layers is encouraged. Due to this unusual circumstance, we will be somewhat flexible in student clothing choice, as comfort is important. For example, sweatpants are normally not allowed. However, given the circumstances, sweatpants are an appropriate option for students. Other examples are yoga pants and beanies (winter hats). Please, however, refrain from bringing blankets. A warm sweatshirt and/or coat should suffice.

HALLWAY TRAVEL
Hallways will always be monitored by staff to ensure proper social distancing. We will also monitor the bathrooms so that no more than four students are in the restroom at any time. We expect students to maintain proper social distancing in the hallways, and always to stay to the right when traveling.
CAFETERIA
We have changed the configuration of the lunchroom to allow for proper social distancing. Therefore, juniors and seniors will eat in the cafeteria after getting their lunch. Sophomores will eat on the east balcony of the gym after getting their lunch and the freshmen will eat on the west balcony of the gym after getting their lunch. There will not be any microwaves available to heat up food, so if you are not purchasing your lunch from the cafeteria, you will need to pack a sack lunch. All tables will be wiped in and wiped out by the students. The cafeteria will be open at 7:30am for breakfast and closed for food after lunch.
DISMISSAL
School will be dismissed on A Block and B Block days at 2:45pm. If students will not be leaving directly after school, they must remain in the cafeteria. The cafeteria will be monitored until it closes at 4:30pm. At that time, students must either be picked up or at their extra-curricular activity.
TRANSPORTATION
Route-specific information has been sent home to families. Each bus rider is subject to the following protocols: • All riders must complete the Skyward Wellness Screening prior to entering the bus • All riders must have a temperature of under 100.4°F • All riders will fill the bus from the back and will sit in the same assigned seat each ride • All bus seats will hold only one rider and social distancing will be maintained • All bus windows will be opened to ensure fresh air • All riders will be dropped off and will enter through the gym main doors • A rider will not be allowed to get on a bus with a temperature of over 100.4°F, therefore a student’s temperature should be taken before heading to the bus stop
COVID-19 LOGISTICS LOCKERS There will be no lockers for students. PE will not be dressing down, so no locker room lockers either.
PARKING Parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We will not be issuing parking passes this year.
MASKS Masks must always be worn properly. If you cannot wear your mask properly, your ability to attend school in the Hybrid Model will be rescinded.
TRAVEL If a student travels, we will follow the CDC and State guidelines on quarantine regulation.
SOCIAL DISTANCING Students must follow all social distancing guidelines – at classroom desks, in line at specific offices, in the cafeteria, and in the hallways. Hybrid Learning Letter | 3 of 3

GENERAL TIPS
• Keep your devices updated by installing the most updated software available. This applies to other services such as Adobe, Zoom, or other educational technology. • Restarting your device can often resolve many unexplained issues.
ZOOM AND CANVAS TIPS FOR STUDENTS AT HOME:
• Use hard wire instead of wire-less. • Position yourself close to your home router. Sit in an area with less obstruction from walls and other devices such as microwaves, baby monitors, refrigerators, etc. Many devices in use can compete for bandwidth on your wireless network. • We recommend you use a laptop/desktop instead of your phone when completing work in canvas or during zoom meetings. If you have issues uploading files into canvas using your phone, try uploading using your laptop/desktop. Using a phone to upload files in canvas can cause issues.
