A natural gas assessment of the country of Bangladesh was conducted after a 21-month study performed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and funded by the U.S. Agencyfor International Development. This project culminated in an assessment meeting that was held in Denver, Colo., from Janu- ary 16 to January 26, 2001. The assessment team consistedof six geologists from the USGS’s World Energy Resource Assessment Team and seven geologists, geophysicists, geo- chemists, and a petroleum engineer from Petrobangla.
