Everything started as a dream but with brief thoughts and predictive business spirit when I was more or less a kid as said in the last article. But should in case you missed the first article, kindly click here to see. That being said after I got the job at a factory building binders for sports fans to collect their favorite’s game player’s cards. I was working there, and I was also involved with my brother in the electronics repair business on the weekends. A skill we had both obtained back in our hometown, Pakistan as assets to fall on should it become necessary. It inevitably came handy as we made few bucks to help the family with some financial needs while visiting video stores and helping them with their VCR repairs. Our intentions were to expand the business, but then everything soon changed, and CD player soon replaced the use of VCR, and then we went out of business. It seems the end of the road but as my spirit wouldn’t have it, I grabbed myself together like I always do and ventured into the Video making business and I was also a Disk-Jockey at weddings and birthday parties. That should amaze you since I never told you I was a huge fan of music, well I am, who doesn’t like music even though our interest might differ. I acquired the DJ skills from a friend I grew fond of here in Canada but had started shooting video’s in Pakistan as I was helping an older friend who was a professional video editor and photographer at bridal events. Shuffling between these two jobs got me extremely busy, but the money was worth the time. All was going pretty well until the friendship between my businesses partners went down memory lane. I was left with no choice but to split and hold onto to the DJ gig for a while until 2002 when I got married. No regrets, only excellent experience… I was soon into Landscaping business with another good friend and two years later walked away from saving the friendship and letting go the trade I was not so thrilled about, apart from the fact that it required a lot of hard work and long hours, the competition was pretty stiff. The year 2005 came, and I bought a coffee shop franchise that was well known in the downtown Toronto and had the good reputation along with its famous MMMuffin. Not so long after a recently growing coffee chain decided to open a shop in the cafeteria right behind me which resulted in a huge loss for me, I lost half of my coffee sales. And in two-year, I had to walk away with nothing on hand, except my die-hard self. A $200k, my marriage and a house I had just purchased six months ago. I decided not to involve in any other business and just work and live life like 96% do, and be happy; because achieving the financial freedom seemed far distanced if not, impossible! But then reality struck me as I sit down in one of my very fond comfort zones. I thought to myself “How can I be happy, ever since my childhood, all I did was to build businesses and work towards my freedom, how come I am where I am.” This thought continually haunted me, and then finally unrelenting, I decided to seek an opportunity, but this time I was neither ready to invest a lot of money, time outside my kid's life or become a slave to myself yet again. I began my search for a home based business and what I have found fits in my schedule and way of life. With this 21th-century business model, I can work when I want, and wherever I want, as long as I have my laptop and internet connectivity, I am ready to go. My passion for traveling wouldn't also come in the way of my business, to me it's a win-win situation, wouldn't you agree? But The Best Is Yet To Come! In the Next Article, I will be sharing with you " 5 steps to starting a home based business," So stay tuned. P.S.
