Shakespeare from a legal perspective

Judiciary Department of Federal District & FSA at Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2014 presented a dramatized reading of the trial from The Merchant of Venice. After the scene, Dr. Eduardo Rinesi (Dean of the Universidad de General Sarmiento) and Dr. Horacio Corti (General Public Defender of Buenos Aires) lectured and reflecting Shakespeare´s insight on Justice, Law and moral values.

FSA celebrated Shakespeare's 450th Birthday in a heartfelt Homage together with special guests at the 40th Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2014

At the 40th Buenos Aires International Book Fair 2014, on May 12th Fundación Shakespeare Argentina presented the event Nuestro Shakespeare (Our Shakespeare) commemorating Shakespeare's 450th anniversary with special guests:

Carlos Gamerro: Argentine Writer and translator. He translated Hamlet & Henry VIII for Norma publishing house.

Pablo Ingberg: Argentine writer and translator. He is the Argentinian who translated more Shakespeare plays. He directed the edition of the Complete Shakespeare Works for Losada Publishing House.

Raúl Serrano: Praised Artistic Director, writer, lecturer and drama teacher.

Horacio Peña: Actor with a longstanding stage career who played many Shakespeare characters and lately performed Falstaff at the Globe to Globe Festival in Henry IV Part II (El Kafka production).

Lautaro Vilo: Artistic Director, actor, playwright and drama teacher. Translated & adapted Henry IV part II for El Kafka's production performing at the Globe to Globe Festival in which he played prince Hal.

Argentine

Production of Henry IV Part II starring with Horacio Peña & Lautaro Vilo Directed by Rubén Szuchmacher performed at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 2012 at Globe to Globe Festival.

Homage to Shakespeare at Academia Nacional de Ciencias de Buenos Aires CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS DEL IMAGINARIO of the ACADEMIA NACIONAL DE CIENCIAS DE BUENOS AIRES together with Fundación Shakespeare Argentina and Departamento de Artes de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UBA invited to paid Homage to William Shakespeare on the 450th anniversary of his birth. The event took place on June 18th 2014 at the Academia Nacional de Ciencias de Buenos Aires. Dr. Hugo Bauzá, Director of the Centro de Estudios del Imaginario presented Dra. Graciela C. Sarti (Universidad de Buenos Aires) who lectured on “Shakespeare cercano y lejano” and Dr. Miguel Ángel Montezanti (Universidad Nacional de la Plata) lectured on “Shakespeare y su universo lírico”.

Homage to Shakespeare at XII Buenos Aires Theatre Book Fair 2014 at Teatro Nacional Cervantes A heartfelt Homage to Shakespeare at XII Buenos Aires Theatre Book Fair 2014 took place at Teatro Nacional Cervantes. A very well-received, dramatised reading of the Play "Hasta la última sílaba del tiempo, sobre Shakespeare y sus obras" by Alberto Wainer (author) and Jorge Azurmendi (director) was performed at the "Salón Dorado" (Golden Hall). The play threads different scenes from Shakespeare´s Richard III, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet & Othello read out by Argentina´s renowned stage actors: (in alphabetical order) Maia Francia, Claudio Gallardou, Osmar Núñez, Gustavo Pardi & Ingrid Pelicori. The cast was completed with the music ensamble "Antires" (Baroque-Renaissance) formed by Gabriela Bogo (Vocal), Natacha Cabezas (Archilute), Sebastián Strauchler (Lute).
