The cast was accompanied by the BaroqueRenaissance music ensemble 'Antires' which was made up of Gabriela Bogo (vocals), Natacha Cabezas (archlute), and Sebastián Strauchler (lute) along with guest singer Mike Zubi. The music enriched the recital of a fine text and the harmony created between the two resulted in a wonderful atmosphere at a packed Orestes Caviglia Hall of the theatre.

Narrator Narrator: Luis Brandoni “It is seldom that man has faced such an extreme contradiction, seldom that he has felt so in tatters historically. His body and soul have been slashed through. But it is already known that libraries, museums or theatres can flourish in the shadow of concentration camps and in that way the illusion is dispelled that reason can span knowledge in its entirety and that culture, in turn, as it is knowledge, can stop violence. But it is not only from utopia: banished from modernity, man has also been stripped of experience, and now Hamlet finds Yorick’s skull amongst the ashes, the ashes of an oven at Auschwitz. Of course, over this given reality looms not only irreality – “to be or not to be” is the dilemma of a subversive – but also a kind of anti-reality, of resistance to the absence of judgement, to ethical apathy, a praxis in which the hate of evil is as important as love, if we don’t want the world to come to an end. In forgiving a person, you finish with them, thought Freud. And, similar to them, to those who are most owed justice to this day, prior to oblivion or to forgiveness, Hamlet ... Hamlet has yet to forgive.” (A fragment of the work "Stuff as dreams are made On - On Shakespeare and his works" by Alberto Wainer).

FSA's Stand at the Theatre Book Fair 2012

During the Theatre Book Fair, the Fundación Shakespeare Argentina (FSA) set up a stand at which to meet the general public and inform all those interested of the aims of our institution. During the week of the fair, a number of movies based on Shakespeare's plays were screened on a large TV monitor and it was a fascinating and rewarding experience to witness people's passionate interest in both Shakespeare and the FSA's initiative. We would like to thank all those who approached us and shared with us their enthusiasm for the project, enthusiasm which will help us to move forward with our initiative to spread and encourage the study and reading of and interest in the life and works of William Shakespeare in our country.
